Actually yeah, I recall a bit of scepticism about his motives when we changed the 51% thing to allow him full control of the club.
Seems silly to doubt him now, obviously.

Wasn't there a bit of disquiet around the whole Jez/DD situation too? Given the 'supposed' financial mismanagement when the figures were wildly wrong I'm sure a few questioned why Paul was happy to stay the other side of the Atlantic and not get involved when things went awry.
But given what you see other fans complaining about, we are being quite picky now. Paul has been a fantastic owner and the continued investment in many things outside of just the squad proves he is very much a true U and in it for the long haul (no pun intended).

I still want to see the golden share thing done. Not because of Paul, but for any chair/owner that follows. In fact him being so lovely just leaves us off guard.

Nah, don't confuse the person, who is obviously warm, personable and passionate about CUFC, with the hard headed businessman. He didn't create his own fortune without being a bit 'streetwise'. However it is wonderful to see a man who has made such money also stick to the principles which currently anchor our club. There's no 'lovely' in it.

Lovely.
Instead of bouncing around between main stand and NRE with/without the kids on a game by game basis, I may just have to grab south stand season tickets for the four of us.

Every time I read communication from Paul, it makes me proud to be a Cambridge United fan.
Whatever happens on the pitch, we’re in very safe hands off it while he’s at the helm.

Having the South Stand for family might mean I can pursuade the wife to let me get a season ticket again this year. Having an 8 and 10 year old, they just aren't quite tall enough to enjoy a packed standing only terrace on a regular basis. Seating overcomes that problem for me, and I suspect, quite a few others.

Very positive message that highlights the ongoing progress and the ambition of the owners. Lots to look forward to. Hopefully the south stand change, together with palatable football, will see us delivering 7k crowds on a fairly regular basis

Thankless task being a football club owner and of course it would be lovely if PB had a couple of hundred mil to throw at the club (I’m sure he, more than anyone, would like that to be the case!), but he has what he has, and does an excellent job with it. He clearly runs the club sensibly, the owners are investing in infrastructure, instead of throwing crazy money at a centre forward who does a cruciate in August, which I think is absolutely the best way to develop the club. Once that infrastructure starts increasing our turnover, that expensive centre forward becomes a lot more sustainable. Without him, I dare say, we would still be in non league. No Wembley, no Old Trafford, no Newcastle… the man is a gem.

Without him we'd have had to have reformed and probably ended up ground sharing with St Neots or some such.
Allahu Akbar to the great man.
