A section of our fanbase is a bit obsessed with him in a bit of an odd way. I really don't get comments like this. He's quite obviously our best and most consistent player, even though he's had a few blips this season. There's a good reason why he keeps getting player of the month, featuring occasionally in the EFL team of the week etc.

Danny my choice too, in the games I saw he was definitely the MOM but then I did miss a couple of games as well. He's certainly stepped up a few notches these past couple of months which is great to see (except perhaps keeping Dunk waiting a bit longer for a few more appearances once he is ready).

I would vote for Andrew if i were on twitter. Really solid January.
Think there’s a sizeable part of our fan base who see him as a youth product and one of our own. Plus a lot of match goers get to see him in action close up down each side and love his little feints to cut inside.

Unfortunately you're wildly outnumbered with that view. On Twitter, yes, although so far not on this thread. Which is pretty much the point I'm making.

Agreed - in a similar way to how Berry was often the "default" choice even when others had better individual matches. Unless someone else gets a brace, or he has a complete shocker, Lennett will get the MotM. Not exactly the end of the world, just a bit of an oddity.

Yes he's had the odd poor game but so have others.

Yes, he ais a good player but the amount of times he wins MoM for an average performance is staggering. He is the fans favourite - young, and while he didnt come through yth team he came through the system. He does create excitement with the runs he goes on and in some respects is a breath of fresh air. Take off those rose tinted specs though - has 1 assist, same as Jubs and 0 goals (Andrew 1). While he puts crosses in they often do not get to the man. Defensively while he makes some great challenges, he also gets into trouble a lot and has often been his man who scores. For example Burton A where Andrew got criticised as the crosses came in from his side but on both occasions LB got out-musceled. But thats why we got him, his 'weakness' is his size and strength. If he had that he would have been at an Ipswich or similar academy. Dont get me wrong, he is a good player and has had some excellent games but defensively he is just average.

My vote is for Andrew in the Liam Bennett player of the month award.
On on another note - I probably wouldn't have Kaikai in there as I think he's been a bit meh, myself. Nice goal against Fleetwood but I feel like voting for punchy moments rather than the consistency of, say, Morro is a bit odd too.
Bennett has been fine. Great to see him come through that blip he had ...I remember seeing someone say he was a liability at right back not so long ago so it's nice he's shut that noise up.

I wouldn't say defensively he's average but I would agree he gets himself in trouble at times. This is why I think he'd be better as a wing back or winger, but that's for another day (tomorrow probably).
I think Bennett performs at such a consistently high level, higher than most of our players, that many of our fans take that for granted.

Andrew Yes, I did call him a liability at right back. I don't take that back. His height and physicality is always going to be an issue even though he compensates for that very well most of the time with pace and one heck of a jump to head the ball. He has had a fair few dodgy moments in defence, that said he's also defended bravely too and often puts himself in the way to block shots etc. So liability in terms of lack of consistency. That said, his attacking attributes are superb. Worthy of Championship football in my mind.

I don't think (m)anyone takes him for granted myself. We mostly all know he's good, it's just that sometimes other players have been better. January being a case in point for me.

Another vote for Andrew here, though I think Lennett had his best month for a while. Biggest praise I can give Andrew is that I’m not pining for the return of Dunk. Actually can’t see him getting much game time when he comes back but a great option off the bench.
KaiKai was poor last week but had a good month overall. Although most of his good performances came when playing centrally. Need the likes of him, Bennett and Andrew to actually get good deliveries in the box on a more consistent basis. Big weakness for all 3 of them.
Had my doubts about Steven’s a few weeks ago, but he’s been superb the last 3 or 4 games, including that last min point preserving save at Exeter.

Football, game of opinions! Personally, I think his top level is very high but not always consistent. I think that's due to experience though and the consistency will come. Can't wait to have Harrison back.
