I don't do predictions often, because I'm lousy at them, but Ipswich won't be doing a Luton! Just as a lot of the pundits have us nailed on for 24th in L1, the same grifters have Ipswich on for an automatic slot (in some cases) or play offs for the Champ. Not sure I can see that somehow.

This season I think the Championship is the strongest it's been for many years. You could make a case for around half of the division getting into the top 6 spots, based on last year's form, squad building or (in the case of at least 2 of the 3 that were relegated), expectation that comes with the parachute payments.

We're getting ahead of ourselves, haha. If all goes to plan I imagine Ipswich will be punching at the premier league door and I'm not convinced he's good enough to make a difference at that level, and when they can afford to roll out £4-5m on a player who likely is they'll possibly just prefer to do that. They might recall him in January to sell him if he does well 🤷♂️. Andrew I'm trying not to get too excited or ahead of myself. Its hard when the season has just kicked off haha

It felt like a more comfortable win than last seasons opener certainly. Maybe I'm misremembering that MK game though.
If we're getting carried away then it reminded me of Carlisle in our promotion year - Happy to concede the majority of possession, defensively excellent, great teamwork, brutal on the counter attack, clinical in attack, professional at closing the game out. It had all the buzz and feel of a classic Bonnerball performance.
There's definitely room for one of the 'smaller' clubs in the league to do something special this season. I'm not saying it'll be us, but I'm not not saying it'll be us either.

An anagram of his name is "A Gasman Heads" which is fitting.
