We won there in the Beck days too - pretty sure that was a Friday night?

Another memory from that opening day is the Lincoln skinhead gang The Clan getting intercepted by the old Trinity Foot pub (demolished a few years back) on the A14. Lincoln police tipped off Cambs police chief superintendant Geoff Dear who in 'Operation Intercept' took eight Ford Escort police cars and a black Maria and a dozen or so officers to stop the coaches and search the boys on board. They found a wooden handle and thats about it and sent three coaches back to lincoln. The Hon Sec of the SC Harry Howe wrote a letter of thanks to Geoff Dear. Dear btw was from Peterborough and headed the investigation into Hillsborough and later became a Baron! Talk about a top cop. The same Dear that was head of a squad in the West Midlands that was investigated and shut down, after evidence of serious abuses by officers were found. Over 60 convictions from the same squad were deemed to be unsafe and quashed. He was also investigated by the IPCC over Hillsborough and later opposed the same sex marriage bill. I can't contain my surprise that a senior policeman turns out to be a sponge.

We have a (provisional) cover! Not got any marketing knowledge but is the similarity with the previous book not a concern? If searching for gifts I might initially think I bought that a few years ago etc. Personally not a huge fan of the player collage style as it often leads to a modern bias - presumably due to picture availability/quality - but that's a much more subjective critique!

Provisional is the key here. Will take on board any feedback so thank you for that!

A few things that struck me. Needs more photos of actual greatest moments. Picture impact. Not just head shots eg Mullin rooftop. More pictures to show older moments eg that great pic of Claridge wheeling away after scoring at Ipswich. Foreward by a 2CW who lives in Oz. Hmm! How many of these moments did he attend? Main picture on front cover is of retail park and bland blurry city/countryside. The stadium needs to be on the front. Some of the same faces that appeared on 100 Things I Love are on this one too. All too samey. Typeface/font is unremarkable and lacks wow factor. Should be more like Russ's book 100 Years, 50 memorable matches. If Bonner's there so should Beck. The cover suggests just about all the greatest moments happened in the last 10 years or so. Fewer cliches on back cover eg "vividly to life", "remarkable detail", "treasure trove" etc. I mention these as constructive criticism so please don't think I'm just sniping. It'll be a great book like Russ's other ones and I'll be buying it like the other ones. Can't wait.

I’ll pass it all on to the designer! One other point. You need a full stop after the St in St. James' Park. The club itself always use a full stop so the book should too.

Looking forward to the book.
Part of the importance (and fun) will be the discussion the moments bring and also thinking about the the moments which weren't included.
Every supporter is going to have a different viewpoint.
The last book was a cracking read so know it will be handled with love and care...
