4 losses in 15 games (those all coming against 1st & 2nd in the past 2 games, then 6th and 11th), having lost 17 from 26 and 8 of the previous 9 before he was appointed. They also have 2 games in hand on the 2 teams closest to them, and 1 on many of those above.
The problem since he's been there has been turning draws into wins. I'm not saying he's done an amazing job or that it's been a miraculous turnaround or anything, but an "awful" job it definitely is not. Reminds me a bit of Manning at Oxford last season actually.
Staying up was the short-term aim when they were appointed and I'm pretty sure they'll do that by at least 3 points or so. Assuming they achieve that, it'll be "expectations met" & then October/November will be the time to see whether he's managing what they really brought him in for.
All the managerial changes down that end of the table haven't exactly yielded the sort of results I think people might have expected. You'd probably say that Morrison at Sutton (who's doubled their PPG since he came in) is the only one who's really had a transformative effect.

Their fans can't believe they've taken nothing from their last two games, which says something given they've played 1st and 2nd. But I'm not sure you or I would be so magnanimous if it was us in that situation. Objectively, they are in a much worse position than they were 4 months ago when he took over, although they will be favourites to get out of it with their games in hand.

Probably not – some people wanted Monk sacked after 3 games after all – but that's the difference between looking at things from the inside and outside. "Objectively much worse" is demonstrably untrue, given they they'd played 1 game more than Sutton & 2 more than FGR for those 5/6 points extra. Wait until the games have evened up & we'll see what their relative positions are like. They also currently haven't lost 8 games from their last 9 and are apparently playing well enough to be unfortunate not to have got anything from the teams in 1st and 2nd, which I'd subjectively suggest is a better position to be in. The signs are there that they're capable of doing something as long as they deliver on staying up, which it's looking like they should.
