I'm sure I should know this but if I do I've forgotten. Nevertheless I'll ask the stupid question: why is this match on Friday night not Saturday afternoon? Attendances on the last Saturday before Christmas are notoriously poor - normally 600-800 below par. I think moving it to Friday night is just trying something different… Booking tickets this afternoon, most Main Stand seats have gone, just a few sets of more than 2 together in F Block. Looks like another decent home crowd, although can't see many making the journey from Exeter!

Assuming he plays it will be Okedina's 100th club appearance. Only five outfield players have played more games than him without scoring. Anyone care to guess their names? *Edit* Strictly speaking it's six but one person played as goalkeeper and full back! Lionel occasionally went on mazy runs in the full back area, giving everyone a heart attack and prompting goal-like celebrations when the ball was eventually hacked clear for a throw in on half-way. But I don't think he's one of the six. Man I loved that guy, still do. Everything a flamboyant player should be and more.

And who better to get them against than a team that has picked up three points since mid September? They've also only scored 13 goals (5 fewer than us) and 3 in their last 11. 5-2 loss incoming it is. Yeah, I'm sure we've been in this position before. When a team is on an awful run of form I somehow always feel even less confident we're going to win. In the 5 away games prior to Stevenage, their record was lost 5, conceded 19 and scored 1. Makes the Stevenage point look even better. Being an eternal pessimist (I can't help it), I'm almost certain of an Exeter victory.

I think moving it to Friday night is just trying something different… That makes sense but I thought you had to have a more logical reason than that to move a game these days? 6 days rest should hopefully see the same lineup (bar Digby) everyone worked their socks off Saturday but should have recovered for Friday night. They may be on an awful run and we always get nervous but I think EG pulled out a stat a while back showing that was false? We’re still on new manager bounce mode too so I’ll remain confident for this one.

He came closer to scoring than any other keeper I can think of - unless you count Dimi's penalty in the shootout!

Digby...? Did he score on his 100th appearance? Andrew He did score on his 100th appearance but he'd already scored twice the previous season.

Marc Joseph is one I think. Andrew You mean M**c J****h? It's been 22 years but I still won't forgive! I did wonder if he was there on Saturday actually, as he works for Blackpool now. Despite the obvious unpleasantness of his departure, he was at the club for 10 years, so perhaps he still holds United in his heart, even if the feeling isn't mutual.

Jimmy Thompson Warren Goodhind
Thought Alan Guild and Dave Stringer too, but Wiki says they actually scored a goal once - after their 100th match maybe?

Jimmy Thompson Warren Goodhind Thought Alan Guild and Dave Stringer too, but Wiki says they actually scored a goal once! I remember Goodhind's debut away at Blackpool. Almost his first touch, in like the third minute of the game, he had a shocker and let them in to score. I never imagined that he would go on to play over 100 times for us at the point. Turned into a decent player without ever being a firm favourite.
