Another thing where was the FA and football league when Bury, Darlington, Macclesfield etc went tits up no clapping for them. Only because Reading where in the prem over spent over the years and still carried on this season until proper salary caps and clubs don't over spend then this will keep going on regardless of fit and proper owners. Lot of money has left football through agents and footballers getting over paid.

I would clap in support of the fans, certainly not in support of the club and its maladministration.

"Would we be so sympathetic if, having given up a Saturday, 4 hour round trip +, match tickets, food, our game against them was called off. Especially for those who may have booked trains or hotels?" Probably. I'd be pissed off but I'd still be sympathetic. Also, the protest was planned well in advance. I don't know what warning Port Vale fans were given but I certainly knew it was going to happen. Andrew Really, well it puts me off going to the game as I don't want to wast time and money.

Simple answer is to award Vale a 3-0 win and same if it happens again. If it did happen again then all further games should be behind closed doors. We have a cost of living crisis and many people can't afford to chuck money away on things like this.m

Interesting one this. Whilst I sympathise with the Reading Fan's, this is still a club that took the PL riches, screwed us over Dave Kitson and has attracted 2 of our forwards from last year on higher waged long term deals. I feel more sorry when its the likes of Macclesfield & Bury rather than one of the ex PL clubs. People could have said similar things about us when we nearly went our of existence... "It's their own fault for spending money they didn't have" etc. Instead we got a lot of solidarity from the likes of Wrexham etc, which in small ways helped. Ultimately the fans (and "normal" non-playing staff) are the ones who lose out in this situation, none of whom are to blame for it.

Reading have enjoyed success due to John Majeski as before that they were playing in run down Elm Park. Due to the Kitson ripoff and Smith/Knibbs I won’t be joining in any clapping and surprised that CFU would. Let them have one of the relegation places on offer, makes our life easier.

What is a “proper club”? Is this not all eliteist and the sort of attitude those that want the super league have? Are Cambridge a proper club seeing as we are relative new to the league compared to many teams. Should the likes of York, chesterfield or Oldham be more deserving of our place in L1? And the kitson thing was our own stupid fault.

I think the Kitson thing was justifiable from our perspective from what I’ve heard - we were skint & Reading were threatening us with an expensive court battle if we didn’t accept and presumably their position was at least arguable in law so - all done - better to accept something rather than have a protracted legal fight to maybe get nothing leaving us hugely out of pocket. No disrespect but stand and clap how is a guy in china who is like most Chinese only interested how much they can make be bothered about people clapping.Reading fans need to stop going to games and force the club into administration which will then force the club to be sold through administration. Way to tar over a billion people with the same brush…

If there's one thing we learnt from Covid it's clapping for solidarity definitely solves all the problems.
Flip reading, they can get a clap when they give us the million pounds they owe us
