CFU stand alongside the supporters of Reading FC and all fans who have seen their clubs badly damaged by inappropriate or incompetent ownership. Cambridge United nearly folded as we slid out of the Football League accompanied by a dire financial crisis which had been hidden from the fans. One of our Directors sold the ground to himself. We spent years languishing in the Conference and have now got back to League One and own our ground again.
We received support from football clubs around the country when we were in trouble and for that we are extremely grateful.
We know what a football club means to its fans and to its community and will support Reading in whatever way we can.
The FSA have suggested that fans of all clubs should stand and clap in solidarity with Reading and show the EFL that football fans stand together.
Accordingly, we will be asking our fans to stand and clap at Exeter in the sixteenth minute on Saturday. We all deserve better from those who govern the game and have a huge responsibility for protecting our Heritage and the communities which treasure it.

To be fair clapping will definitely help the situation. That will have the reading owners quaking and put other dodgy owners off!!! Not! Would we be so sympathetic if, having given up a Saturday, 4 hour round trip +, match tickets, food, our game against them was called off. Especially for those who may have booked trains or hotels? |

We are all United Which two directors sold the ground to themselves? John Howard yes, but his partner was Stephen Clark I think, who had nothing to do with the club. |

Probably. I'd be pissed off but I'd still be sympathetic.
Also, the protest was planned well in advance. I don't know what warning Port Vale fans were given but I certainly knew it was going to happen.

Yes? Some things are bigger than personal inconvenience. Reading fans have also donated en masse to a Port Vale fundraiser. There were 147 registered donations in over two years before they started, and now there are 740. So it's not like they're being selfish, is it? |

No disrespect but stand and clap how is a guy in china who is like most Chinese only interested how much they can make be bothered about people clapping.Reading fans need to stop going to games and force the club into administration which will then force the club to be sold through administration. I think the problem is that it is the owner who would have to put the club into administration. Doing nothing seems to be his preferred approach which would lead to liquidation. |

Interesting one this. Whilst I sympathise with the Reading Fan's, this is still a club that took the PL riches, screwed us over Dave Kitson and has attracted 2 of our forwards from last year on higher waged long term deals. I feel more sorry when its the likes of Macclesfield & Bury rather than one of the ex PL clubs.
