Is anyone angry at him? I think some people are (understandably) angry at the circumstances but largely ambivalent or understanding towards Harris himself. A couple of messages I have got have been angry at him, although I feel it's more heat of the moment stuff.

Any of us would do the same thing as he is going to do. Simple as that and fair enough. He was doing OK and seems a decent chap. Good luck to him.

Not buying this "any of us would do the same" nonsense.
Managers have potentially very long careers. Ask Roy Hodgson. It's not like footballers who I can forgive (apart from Billy Beale) for putting career ahead of loyalty.
He's committed to the club, he's selling himself as someone committed to the club, the city, the project. There'll be other opportunities for him to manage Millwall and clubs higher up the pyramid.
If he goes I will be holding a grudge. If he stays he'll be a hero.

Anyone want to play Harris leaving statement bingo. I've got "triffic club" "Cambridge means to much to me and my family" "thanks to the owner" "These things happen in football" added to my card.

Moosehacker and I bear some responsibility for this. We were at Millwall’s capitulation to Sheffield Wednesday. My God, they have some angry fans!

If he goes I will be holding a grudge. If he stays he'll be a hero. That's a pretty low bar for heroism.

But to turn down the club he's idolised at for us in a lower division would make one hell of a statement. Not that I can see it happening mind. That said, the last time a manager turned down a higher league club to stay here it turned into a disaster....

I think it's pretty obvious that the owners going for him is more a desperate PR play than anything else. There's certainly nothing about his actual managerial record in the past 3 or 4 years that suggests he's the right man to get them out of the mess they're in, but it shows action, likely mollifies the fans (for a bit anyway) & likely gives the club a lift. Sometimes that's enough. If that helps keep them up it further solidifies his status & reflects well on the owners; if he takes them down, at least they did Everything They Could and are ready to attack L1 with someone who knows and cares for the club at the helm. And who makes an excellent cover for the cloth-cutting they'll need to go through to sort themselves out. It's basically us appointing Shaggy.

If he goes I will be holding a grudge. If he stays he'll be a hero. Each to their own, but if I was in charge of a smaller club right now and United came calling, I'd be gone. Because this is my club. For better or worse, this is my club. Millwall is his club. He's come to us because he's a professional and it's a job. And he's done pretty well since coming in. But I do understand. If he says no, he may not get the chance to manage Millwall again. If we can get Rowett as a replacement, I'd consider it to be a good thing anyway.
