Be amazed (and very disappointed) if Digby doesn't return for this one. Think we'll probably put Bonne in too. Maybe even an Ibsen Rossi wild card & switch to 3-5-2, who knows. Think we'll go with something like: Stevens Gibbons Bennett Morrison Andrew Cousins Kaikai Digby Thomas Brophy Bonne Maybe a Portsmouth-style central runout for Lankester in the middle instead of Thomas. Whatever we do, I think we'll probably lose but am not totally pessimistic about nabbing a result. I would be astonished if Corr changes the formation for the game, it would be a hell of a bold move from a caretaker manager (who has no interest in the job permanently) to upset the shape of a team for a game of this magnitude. I expect a similar team to Saturday, maybe starting Bonne instead of Thomas, Brophy or Kaikai, using Kachunga in the 10 role behind him. Also wouldn't be surprised to see Lennett rotated back in, although I'm not a fan of rotating defenders game to game.

Controversial opinion for some maybe, but i would start May & Digby in midfield to try and freshen us up. Cousins has been ineffective for me of late. Need a few more soldiers than artists against Evans cloggers as well. I would start the same back 4 for that reason. Bonne also needs to start against his CB's. Lankester & Kai Kai looked tired towards the end Saturday so maybe rested for Bolton?

People were accusing him of being slow but at least he found our players and wasn’t caught in possession, unlike Cousins who has made a habit of that in recent times. It would also bring added freshness to the side alongside Digby. Type of game that should suit Bonne. If he doesn’t start this one then I’m not sure he ever will again. Gibbons appeared to be limping and then spoke to the bench briefly before coming off. Although he seemed to be walking fine when walking round the pitch.

Stevens Gibbons - Rennet - Morrison - Andrew Digby - May Kaikai - Thomas - Lancaster(or Brophy) Bonne
is what I'd go with.

May is definitely a good passer of the ball, but I have to say he hasn't been the same since he came back from injury. He's very reluctant to go into any challenge. I saw him on Saturday refuse a challenge he should have made. For that reason I wouldn't have him play against Stevenage. If only we could create a hybrid player between him and Cousins they would be pretty decent!

May is as rusty as hell but he'll get back to his best if he gets a few games under his belt, and even now he'll offer more than most of our other midfielders.

May, like most of our midfielders is better suited to a three but we seem allergic to playing it bar Bonner for 2 weeks.

I really hope we can keep Corr with us when the new manager is appointed - he's clearly a smart guy and it's nice to have bit of continuity from the lockdown legends era. Assuming whoever comes in lasts a bit longer than 11 weeks, Corr could well be next in line.

Adam May is (imo) the best passer of the ball in the squad. He also happens to be massively underappreciated by some fans. It's amazing how people can see such different things in games. The most noticeable aspect of May's game this season has been his inability to find a teammate with a pass IMO. Maybe not most noticeable, his bottling of any physical contact has been stark too. I'd also take the opposite position to say a lot of fans have overrated him over the past couple of years. My view is he's a bit of an O'Neil - not dynamic enough, technical enough or aggressive enough to be a league one midfielder, but some rare long range strikes cloud people's views. If we released him in the summer I'd be shocked if a fellow league one club picked him up. Respect your view though - hopefully he can transform our midfield in the coming weeks as the others have been very disappointing of late. I'd be delighted for this message to age horribly!

Definitely one of those, who suddenly became a great player when he was out injured, agree with all of the above.

I'd like to see May start a game. He's generally been coming on when we're behind and chasing things desperately, so perhaps unsurprisingly looks a bit off the pace or frantic/rushed.
