Monk will soon have the Abbey chanting and won’t tolerate us staring into the Abbess for too long

He won't be here for long. Gone after relegation and a bad start in L2 next season. Mid October. Wow, you must be fun at parties

Major concern is why has he been out of work for 3 years ?

His time out of the game makes me a little sceptical. Clearly has a point to prove and a reputation to rebuild. Just keep us up, that’s all I ask.. for now.
Could have been a lot worse and I’m glad it’s not a short term appointment.

His win percentages at his old clubs aren’t too bad Swansea 36.4 Leeds 47.2 Middlesbrough 46.2 Brum 32.2 Wednesday 31.0
Was only at Boro for 26 games though.
Obviously would have preferred Duff or Rowett but just like players, we are fishing in the pool of players/coaches with something to prove who’ve maybe lost their way a bit and give them a leg up in their career.

Major concern is why has he been out of work for 3 years ? Because he hasn’t. His jobs haven’t been in football management as he has set up what looks to be a football coaching software company instead.

I also imagine that he would have been paid by Sheffield Wednesday for a chunk of that time, potentially even with the caveat that the nice pay day would end if he joined another club.

Happy about this and *far* more positive than I was about the previous one. Exciting times!

As I understand it, when a manager is sacked they continue to get their wages paid for the remainder of thier contract, until they get another football (manager/coach) job. It may explain why he was happy to have some 'time away' until now.
