A win is the main thing today. It won't be easy so going for 2-1. Taylor to repay with a goal. Monk to knee slide in front of the NRE as he doesn't do fist pumps

I'm absolute itching at the scratch, or whatever the saying is, for this game. There's quite a bit of stuff out there on Monk and it all reads quite impressively, and he came across quite relaxed and confident this week too. No major red flags from him so far anyway.
I'm particularly excited at how confident he is to give young players a chance. I'm not sure a relegation battle is quite the time but...who knows 🤷♂️. It's also the first time in while or so that I don't really know what to expect from the formation or tactics, I feel fairly confident he'll change things a bit.
Anyway, I can't wait.

Andrew Completely agree. Trying to find the words to describe my feelings for this match and the best I've got is....curious, excited, expectant, hopeful...actually perhaps 'itching at the scratch' is better.

Definite 'First Game of the Season' vibes, anything could happen - feels like ages since we've played

For 1st time in a long time excited for this afternoon game Monk comes across as a positive person and hopefully that rubs off on the players.

An interesting fact which I've pinched from the Northampton Town FC fans' forum:
'Garry Monk made his debut for Swansea on 7 August 2004 in a 0–2 defeat to Northampton Town'
Nailed on 2-0 win to us methinks.

Feeling a Lyle Taylor Penalty today. Early goal against a team who are going to feel a bit fragile after their thrashing on Tue would help settle the nerves and crank up the noise. Don’t care how we do it.. Just win.

Don’t care how we do it.. Just win. We absolutely need an INQUEST on the levels of noise coming from the NRE at the end of the season. Largest crowds in a long time and always selling out that end and the noise has been... Anaemic a lot of the time

Tuesday will be very fresh in Northampton minds. Neither team will be full of confidence, hence the early goal hope. But, if it doesn’t come ,then let’s hope the noise levels rise and encourage instead of the normal groans followed by minutes of complete silence.
