If someone had told Monk when he brought his Leeds team to the Abbey in January 2017 that in just seven years' time he'd be sitting in the home dug-out & managing a bunch of FECKING ARSE SHITE BAXTADS, I suspect he'd have faked his own death & got a job at Argos. Faking your own death is not an essential part of getting a job at Argos, but it probably helps

Given we didn't get a new manager bounce, it seems reasonable to hope for a new manager flounce.

The 'new manager bounce' thing is often a phenomen that occurs because a new manager's arrival has come off the back of a team's very bad run of form. The change is initially an improvement. That's not the case here.

He's either our manager in league 1 next year and i'll absolutely back him to rebuild us Or He's not our manager when we're in league 2. He talks in his press conferences like a beaten caretaker manager, my god they might be the most dull yet Completely spot on that the position of Monk is the outcome of which league we are in. If we stay up, he has earned the opportunity to rebuild and I also feel he should be able to bring his own member of the coaching team. If we go down, then he has not done enough in a results based business.

To whoever started this poll, GROW UP 100% this! The fact that the majority support his sacking suggests it's not an immature question.

The fact that the majority support his sacking suggests it's not an immature question. I would wager that a fair few voted yes because they were emotional and voted with their heart not their head. When they awake today and the fire has gone from the belly then maybe they will see its stupid and childish to call for the sacking of a manager after only 3 games with a shiet team that he inherited.

I strongly feel Monk must be allowed his No2 Beattie as he was his enforcer every person needs someone they trust and sorry without him then he will struggle as Corr and Betsy are Bonz men and won't understand how Monk works the club can keep them if they are that worried but bring in his no2. Another thing I watched the fitness warm up yesterday a few of the players were nt interested this never happened under Matt and looking at the fitness of the players you have to question those in charge of this.

Pointless poll.
He's not going anywhere. Has a 2 year contract. The board won't be sacking him.

We must surely change course if this "you must work with these assistants" model is a consistent cause of failure/friction with new head coaches? Are there any other clubs in the EFL who employ this strategy?

Not sure if other clubs do most Head coaches bring in people they trust I assume we do it to save payouts and once their contracts end they can be moved on but probably not helping our current problem as Monk looked lost yesterday.

Totally agree re the Fitness. I have mentioned if before that its fallen since Matt Walker left. Perhaps that's why Rowett got rid of Bloom at Millwall. He also appears to have 2 younger assistants who do the bulk of the stuff on the pitch. Matt Walker seemed to do it all himself. On the assistant manager role, it's never really come out why Bonner binned Waddock in the summer. That also looks like another foolish move. I think having a more experienced guy alongside him helped. Also if Bonner could pick and change his no2 why couldn't Harris or Monk?

My head says sacking a manager 3 games into his tenure is ridiculous unless it was for misconduct etc. Bonner was sacked very soon after signing a new deal so the owner has it in him to see something isn’t working and to cut his losses.
But another hammering at Barnsley to nil (likely due to their recent iffy home record) and a loss at home 2 days later I think he will walk. Our complete lack of technical ability in most of the squad has probably surprised him.
Although I thought it was the right decision at the time to let Bonner go, I am a Bonnerite and if Monk does get pushed or jump after Easter then I wouldn’t say no to a Bonner return. And I’d be happy with him in charge in L2 next season.
