Cheltenham went there and got a draw today. Lincoln went there and thrashed them.
If the best version of this squad turns up... the version that is motivated and organised... the version that we have seen on our better days this season, then we can get something from this game.
If the team which "played" at Lincoln and Reading turns up, we're on for another thrashing. Barnsley might even fancy beating their Port Vale score from the opening day.

So they’re on a bad run at home? Enter Cambridge…

I've come to terms with being in league two next season:
Guaranteed six points against notts county Never been to valley parade so get to tick that one off Hopefully won't get spanked 6-0 Avoid moneybags Mansfield and Wrexham
Match prediction 4-0 Barnsley

Tykes Away! (As a previous owner of one of these, I hope they made sure the children's feet didn't drag - they can be a potential death trap...)

"This is football, so you must believe every moment" - Amad Diallo (and keep your shirt on)
We must believe that the team on the pitch have it in them. They must believe that their effort will be rewarded. That they can reach that goal, either personal or literal.
"They all have to be more aggressive" - Roy Keane

A Barnsley shoo-in. There's more chance of Putin losing.

Never been to Oakwell before, so I'm looking forward to it in that sense.
The optimistic part of me thinks that Monk now has two weeks to work with the players on the grass, to study Barnsley, to set out to try to get a result. Any point will be a good result.
If we lose, then I think the nature of the defeat will be very important. A solid performance by a motivated and organised team, undone by a bit of quality, I can handle.
If we capitulate and lose by 3, 4, 5... I can't see how a manager can stay when we're being turned over so easily, game after game, no matter how long he's been in the job.

I would rather Wayne Cousins starts in midfield.

I would rather Wayne Cousins starts in midfield. Very poor taste

I would rather Wayne Cousins starts in midfield. Very poor taste It's not his taste that was the problem, more the method...
