Relegation wouldn’t be the end of the world, but it would be painful if we go down now. Part of the enjoyment of football Is seeing your club achieve something. After what’s happened this season then staying up has to be seen as an achievement.
Has been a few times where I really couldn’t see us staying up, walking out after that Reading nightmare I couldn’t see where our next goal was coming from- let alone a win. For us now to be in this position where a win today will almost certainly keep us up is a good feeling. I don’t think anyone could have predicted that scenario going in to the Easter games.
Taking huge steps forward off the pitch, let’s keep heading that way on it. Tough game ahead but one we can win. Let’s get the job done.

That was the only time I was concerned tbh. I felt relaxed under Bonner - I knew his character and quality as a coach and I felt he was capable of keeping us in the division. Felt fairly relaxed under Harris too, even though I thought he was a bit of prick.
Those two games under Monk though. Christ. That was tactical naievity and a lack of character, confidence and belief on a very worrying level. I didn't expect us to turn it around at all.
Hopefully we can get the win today that'll almost certainly probably confirm survival for another year so that we can look back on a very strange season. We're certainly capable of it.

Andrew Those were my thoughts too. That Easter weekend was truly phenomenal. Full credit to Monk and the players. I can see us getting 3 points today and one of the goal scorers surprises us.

So many people never gave Mr Monk a chance. He came in and had to work with Bonners backroom staff, Bonner and Harris's players, injuries to (particularly strikers) players and two of the toughest fixtures on our calendar. I think some people were still longing for Bonner back. Have to give new managers a chance, what he took on was a nightmare, many wouldn't have bothered. Give him a break!

I was very angry after the Reading game, not specifically at Monk himself. Martinjohn expressed it very well last week. I'm normally one of the more patient Us. Anyway, massive respect to Monk and how he's turned it around. He's made some big brave decisions and got them right.

I don't. Nobody was asking for Bonner back that I recall.
Monk is doing well right now, but it remains that those two games were pretty appalling and not exactly an introduction to endear yourself. It's a real credit to him - and even Bonners backroom staff - that he picked up those excellent easter weekend results.

Starting how we played 2nd half against Blackpool seems fair, Bennett, Brophy and Kaikai didn't play well so fair enough someone else gets a chance.

No Alfie May in Charlton's starting line up (he's on the bench). I wonder if that's an injury-recovery thing or tactical?

Hmm. I'm not Brophy's biggest fan but I wouldn't have dropped him for Bonne. Kachunga for Kaikai seems fair though. And so is Rossi for Rennet.

Not a line up with pace to burn, but hopefully should have a little more strength in possession. We'll see.
I imagine Charlton fans will be thinking Bonne is guaranteed to score against them, so harnessing football fans hoodoos is INSPIRED from Monk.

No, I'd probably have him in at LWB if nothing else.
Should be a side good enough to win though so no great shakes.

Charlton at home was my first U's game and I predict the same result as that game in 1978, a 1-1 draw.
