Some immense performances there. Jobe, lennett, gibbons, bonne, digby especially. How can you leave out Mannion? At least three good saves. Gassan and Fejiri are fearsome at this level, but this was Bonne's day. Zeno Rossi out of position for the goal, but a real Terry Butcher performance after that. If only he bled amber, he wouldn't have to keep changing his shirt.

Charlton were certainly a Jones team, it was like watching Luton a few years back. A load of great big blokes that are skillful at both football and cheating. Ridiculous that they’ve not been able to start their two top scorers so can just play Conor Wickham
Mannion was mom for me, some superb saves. Danny Andrew is class though isn’t he

Well done U’s. The result was better than the overall performance but a proper battling performance when on another day, Charlton would have won that in the second half. I don’t know how May didn’t score today but Mannion was MOM for me today with that save just before half time and then denying May at his near post late on.
Pleased for Bonne to get his first goal for us completely out of nothing but thought he was lucky to come out for the 2nd half as I thought he was poor in the first and should have scored with a header. Listening to the radio on the way home, they replayed Johnson’s commentary for Bonne’s goal and Johnson sounds absolutely amazed that Bonne has scored it’s funny.
A quietly good performance from Gibbons who should have shot instead of crossing to Ahadme, he will be a big miss for Tuesday night.
A battling if slightly unconvincing performance by Rossi who I thought should have come off earlier due to his head wound needing several lengthy redressing. But big shout out to Rennet for 2 massive blocks within 3 seconds near the end also. Think he’ll start Tuesday.
Seeing Vale and Cheltenham continue to loose and Pish receiving a schooling makes it a really good day.
Up the BST U’s 💪

Battling team performance that shows that the players are playing for Monk and so much more effort than against Reading etc a few weeks ago. Everyone contributed which is pleasing but Mannion again proving he should be our first choice keeper. The wind made it difficult for both teams and suited their direct style first half. Vale slipping up along with Cheltenham means we are edging closer and let’s get it done at Bristol on Tuesday

Good honest performance that. Good shift from all the players. Have a listen to Jones’ post match interview. What a bitter, horrible little man. Pitch hasn’t been watered in 8 years and referring to us as “these” through his interview. Sorry pal your team were a bunch of bully boy shithouses. Charlton’s number 33 gave a masterclass performance in continuous fouling especially off the ball and not receiving a 2nd yellow. Can see how they are on a long unbeaten run. Thought their defence was pretty solid.

What is amiss with our pitch? It remains consistently immaculate.
I find myself vexed by the repeated excuse whenever a 'prestigious' club visits the Abbey and fails to secure victory. This disrespect towards St. Darler is intolerable. In times past, such blasphemy would have resulted in condemnation for heresy & summary burning at the stake.

Im interested to know why the pitch wasnt watered before and at half time considering the warm conditions and the wind? Tactical?

As for Mr. Jones: he made a complete tit of himself multiple times throughout the match.
His incessant screaming at the players resembled that of an irate landlord at closing hour, even when they were winning! That team must absolutely detest him.
Does he not realise his duplicitous actions (twice with Luton!) and record breaking failure at Southampton have rendered him a laughing stock? A modicum of dignity is in order, sir.

Fair play to Monk I say. Showing Respect to General John Beck 👍
