It's an odd excuse from a visiting manager. You could give someone a brief history of our club as "99 problems but the pitch ain't 1" (free of charge if you want that for the next book Russ...) and there are plenty of other sides who've managed to come here and play possession football.

Grass is growing on a pitch which hasn't been watered for 8 or 10 years.
We engineered the wind to stop Charlton winning
Maybe Matt Le Tissier is right after all how the govt engineered good weather during covid?
Nathan Jones knows things...

Not a match to remember. We need to thank Will Mannion for the point which makes us surely safe. Good goal from Bonne, glad we signed him.

Nathan Jones=graceless, charmless tool.
”At this level.” Didn’t realise his team played at a different level to us. Surely in the frame to be Klopp’s successor.

A complete arsehat (Jones that is of course) He Was chatting with Graham Daniels pre match . They are all Christian’s I believe… Except when slagging off the opposition pitch and referring to us as them

Enjoyed that…… Eventually. Tough first half against a very physical and streetwise side, not helped by a very poor ref who chose to let them get away with a few too many things, which meant they then repeated them.
Went behind to a fantastic goal, sometimes you just have to hold your hands up and say well done. Was important we kept ourselves in the game cos I don’t think we’d have come back from 2 down (Even if we have got recent history against them) Main reason we did that was due to Mannion. He was superb today and kept us in it which gave us the chance to get that crucial equaliser. Too often we’ve conceded 2 in quick succession and Stevens has made errors causing that to happen.
Jobe was excellent again, he really does have a huge future ahead of him. Gibbons had his best game for a while and Andrew was back to his dependable self. Going to reserve special praise for Cousins. I’ve criticised him as much as anyone, but he was superb in that second half. Really seemed to enjoy the battle and very often came out on top. Digby also relishes games like that. Pleased for Bonne too, thought he struggled but battled away all game and was better than Ahadme who looked a little jaded.
Very nearly over the line now and with Port Vale losing the way they did, psychologically that must be a huge blow for them. Cheltenham have lost twice in the space of 4 days at home to teams that you must get something from if you want to stay up. Hopefully we can get what we need on Tuesday. Be nice to play Derby with no pressure on us.

Battling & gritty is about right. Charlton are a decent team & a horrible one to play against. They'll be good next season.
Deserved the point I think but both teams got away with the other missing big chances. Mannion MotM for 3 excellent saves, just pipping Jobe & Cousins. At the time I thought Ibsen Rossi was culpable for the goal but looking at the replay it looks more like Jobe, which means fault probably lies with both. That sort of thing happens when you have a high-level striker & 2 very inexperienced defenders.
Decent performances all round but really lacked an attacking spark, which was not much of a surprise given the team we sent out. It's good to see some heart & resolve back in a Cambridge team.

Little Man Syndrome in full effect here Love his little looks at the pitch as he moans about it. Guess what boyo, we do actually have water, indeed even sprinklers (at this level). So, guess what? We've absolutely DONE YOU with our choice of surface preparation.

Wasn’t a brilliant performance today but it was very good, all considering.
Most had a good game today, but thought I’d give mention to Cousins. Thought he was very good today, looked properly up for it and put himself about immensely against a very strong and physical team

Is Jones a new entry into the post match opposition manager moans Hall Of Fame?
Current inductees include lovable cheeky Scouse scamp Joey and his idiot tweedledum captain from early in the season and Derek Algae Adams.
Who else?

Im interested to know why the pitch wasnt watered before and at half time considering the warm conditions and the wind? Tactical? I believe so. We didn’t against Wigan either. Fair play to Monk I say. Showing Respect to General John Beck 👍 It's called having home advantage. You set the pitch up to suit your own tactics, not think what might suit the opposition!
