What has happened to Lloyd Jones, is he injured ? Yes hasn't played for a couple of months. He does seem to be injury prone at every club he's been at

He's injured, yeah, for the second time this season. Think it happened the week after he scored his first goal for them in fact.

Interested to know whether anyone here thinks Stevens should be back in at number one when he's fit?

Nah, no reason to change it.
I'm interested to see what we do with Mannion in the summer. I'd imagine we'll offer him a contract but really not sure if he'd take it or not.
Realistically he's at a point now where he needs to be #1 somewhere and playing every week. No reason that can't be here but after 3 years of playing second fiddle (although actually having ended up playing a fair amount of games) I wouldn't blame him for seeking an opportunity elsewhere.

Yeh, wouldn't blame him for leaving. I don't think we've backed him enough over the last few years. He's 25 too, not exactly a young player.

What is amiss with our pitch? It remains consistently immaculate. I find myself vexed by the repeated excuse whenever a 'prestigious' club visits the Abbey and fails to secure victory. This disrespect towards St. Darler is intolerable. In times past, such blasphemy would have resulted in condemnation for heresy & summary burning at the stake. Considering that we have just had the wettest winter on record, how much watering should it have had ? P.s And rain is forecast again for tomorrow.

Although that's a dynamic that Monk could now change in a positive way along the lines of a new start and fresh slate. If he chose to of course.

Yeh, wouldn't blame him for leaving. I don't think we've backed him enough over the last few years. He's 25 too, not exactly a young player. No but still on the younger end as a keeper. It's these next 5 years where he should be really racking up the experience. Assume it'd depend on the tenor of the conversations we have with him about his place and also probably the length of deal we offer him. A three-year deal at a club he's already been for 3 years with the other keepers on the books being out of contract next summer & a 20-year-old – I'm assuming Holden will be released this summer – might be a lot more tempting than a 1 or 2-year deal somewhere else where he'd have to start afresh, for example.

Who provided the late cross into the box that narrowly missed little Liam Bennett's head? Anyone else (like a late-season HDunk) and that would have been our winner.

That was Andrew, who had arguably his best game all season for us. Good at the back, & almost every single cross & set piece was pretty much bang on the money too.

A nice dull affair and hopefully a few more to make the last game completely uninteresting. Interestingly we can promote Derby and relegate Vale in the space of a week so that will be plenty of excitement for me.
Lots of good performances but as others have said, a little too late and i'd still release most of them. But i'll trust whatever judgement the Monkenator decides in the summer, unless it includes not keeping Jobe. The PPG guru has now lowered his prediction to 44 points being the safety line so barring something magic we are all but safe and can go enjoy the last few games
Hopefully Dunk get's a goodbye in whatever capacity it is & unveil his statue at the same time

Another tick in the box on why Bennett would make an excellent winger - no chance at the back post, coupled with his awful shooting (23 shots, 1 on target) we've got our Brophy replacement already in the building if Monk just opened his eyes.

Andrew deserves praise for the consistency of his performances. He’s barely had any competition for his place all season, yet has maintained a really good level (Bar a shaky start and a dodgy few games a few weeks back) As EG said, his delivery yesterday was first class. For the first time in ages I was actually quite hopeful every time we got a free kick in a dangerous area.

Agree about free kicks and Danny Andrew’s delivery. I did wonder if it’s because he was mostly delivering in swingers whereas Bonner always seemed to prefer our corners and free kicks to be out swingers?
