Very happy with this, looks a great signing on paper. If we can play to his strengths then there’s a good goal scorer there. Nice to see the Monk pull is working.

It's good to have someone called Shayne playing for us again. Don't think we've had one since the Tudor times?

I'm giving most of the credit to our training ground, I think. Monk-pull is a real thing and contributed for sure I'm sure, but 'attracting a better standard of player' is something sold to us when the training ground was built...
...although let's see who else comes through the door before we back slap strang too much, I suppose.

I'll have to take their word on the injuries thing, but he managed 36 games last season, 38 the season before and 44 the season before before which seems fairly reasonable to me.

Excellent news for a key position. One of those names that I’ve heard on EFL goals shows over the last couple of years without really knowing anything about him. But on paper seems a classic CUFC L1 signing who maybe whose career has stalled a little somewhat but plenty left in the tank with something to prove.
Welcome to the U’s Mr Lavery

A striker, hurray! And not an aging one, another hurray! Welcome Shayne.
A fair few Blackpool fans commenting on the socials and perhaps surprisingly almost all positive saying we've got a great player and expect him to do well for us.
A Monday morning signing after being disappointed on Friday is always a nice start to the week, wonder if like EG says we'll hear a couple more this week now given new contract year.

Lots of nice comments on the Blackpool fans forum about Lavery, this being one of them……. Worth a quid to be leading scorer in the division. One of the Centre Halves I spoke to season or so ago ..think it may have been Cardiff ( they had loads ) said it was like a wasp attack when Lavs was up against you

I guess Fejiri was like a bee attack in that case.

I guess Fejiri was like a bee attack in that case. Bees can only sting once, whereas a Wasp can sting multiple times . Therefore making Lavery more dangerous in opposition
