None of our fans think it's a good idea, nor do City's fans. A few Histon Village fans think it might be a good idea but haven't offered any reasons why.
In fact, I've yet to hear one reason why anyone thinks it would be a good idea.

Like others before me have said, I'd rather no club or a 'pheonix' club at the bottom of the pyramid than a merged club. I have a mate who was a Sudbury Town fan before their merger, said it was the worst day of his life as his club was effectively dead.

I have to agree with that, I would never want it, it devalues the club massively. If it all really went tits up it would actually proabably be a right laugh setting up a fans run club and trying to rinse it up the leagues. lets hope it doesnt come to that! It will be sad times for Cambridge football if we hit the wall, with City looking like they will end up in Newmarket and Histon going down the pan there will be a big void to fill.

im not agreeing with what sooty said far from it. but i cant help thinking how much further rushden have come since their merger. fair play they had doc martin £££££ i still think we could share with cambridge rugby club. a dodgy pitch in the winter is a small price to pay for the security of our club

On the old message board someone had posted the average attendances so far this season. I was quite shocked to see how bad Rushdens was - it was only about 1100.

I'm not keen but the thought of having no club or being left to choose another that had no U's part in it might persuade me rather than giving up.
