Did anyone catch the cancelled shows The Event, Terra Nova and Flash Forward? I wouldn't call it gripping tv but both were intriguing and finished on cliff hangers. Same goes for Falling Skies, only watched it because it's a Spielberg creation and found it pretty disappointing.
Lie to Me was my favourite show, as well as House. These days I watch Suits, Homeland, Nurse Jackie, Bones, Hawaii5-0, The Walking Dead and Game of Thrones.
Spartacus (series 2) and Vegas have been put on record tonight!

Lie To Me was brilliant, I was devastated when they cancelled it

Terra Nova was an excellent idea, you really shouldn't be able to muck up a programme that contains time travel AND dionsaurs - no idea how they managed to make it so dull.
I read Flash Forward, but never got round to watching it.

Spartacus is a programme i've been reccomending for ages now this is infact series 3 officially but with the prequel series it's series 4. Reccomended it to vessey and it's the manly version of Games of thrones a mixture of the film 300 and anything you may find on www.redtube.com

Haha, yes, Spartacus is fantastic.
I'm currently recording a few series of Sons Of Anarchy, looking forward to watching that.
Just finished first two series of Dexter, very good. Halfway through season three of Friday Night Lights - first two were superb but this third is a bit slow. Got the new Blue Bloods to watch, the first series of Arrow. Recently watched the first series of The Mentalist on Will Weston's recommendation, for which he will be firmly thanked for too.
Sky Atlantic is the best channel ever, the majority of my non-football tv comes from there. The new programme Vegas looks class, starring Michael Chiklis from The Shield. Looking forward to the new Game of Thrones.
Also watch an Aussie/Kiwi gangster series called Underbelly which is very good. Lots of crime, sex and violence Aussie style.

I've sat stone faced through World without end on C4 which ended thankfully last night. Big Budget foreign funded historical romp with a few key figures from history shoehorned in to confuse viewers as to what was real fact and what was TV friendly fiction.
All the peasants looked a bit too Hollywood clean for me as did most of the cast. Totally over the top and using all the best unproven rumour to maximum effect which was a shame because Edward III was probably the best thing to happen to England after his fathers reign.
Edward II murdered during his overthrow was somehow cast as a one armed monk hiding in a fictitious monastery.
If you are interested there is an excellent programme on BBC4 on Monday nights that tells the actual story of this period of history.

I watched 'Terra Nova' and 'Flash Forward' which both had promising storylines, but ultimately didn't convert so well to TV. 'Heroes' was the same - a great start then lost it's way and was cancelled.
Anyone seen 'Revolution'? I have the first ten episodes to watch.

I've not especially heard great things about Revolution. I quite like the idea of it though, and I like crumbling society type programmes so I'll give it a go at some stage I should think.

I really enjoyed the first series of Spartacus but the subsequent series haven't really grabbed me in the same way. Not sure what I'm not liking about it, but it's rare for me to like 'swords and sandals' type stuff anyway.
I've been watching Breaking Bad from the start again recently, as I'm getting impatient waiting for the final 8 episodes. It's an even better watch second time round after a bit of a break, I think it's now firmly in place as my favorite non-comedy TV show.

I know what you mean I think it's the loss of the original Spartacus and introduction of alot of new characters however it ties in well with gods of the arena, new series has just started so hopefully it's good

The original Spartacus from the first series, Andy Whitfield, before he died, was absolutely brilliant and following him was always going to be tough. He was a cracking actor and will be a big loss.
In hindsight i'd have had the fella who plays Gannicus in the six-part prequel as the 'new' Spartacus. He was class.
Also this weekend i managed to catch the Black Mirror episode as discussed earlier, thought it was a great idea, worked well but a really rubbish ending. And i agree with Will that the lass looked a bit like Billie Piper.. i certainly wouldn't knock her back if she wanted to have a coffee with me!

As brilliant as Andy Whitfield was, John Hannah as Batiatus was the highlight for me. I know he's in the prequel, but I still didn't enjoy it nearly as much as Blood & Sand.
What's the score with Black mirror? I've heard mixed reviews and I'm usually pretty clued up on any Charlie Brookerness but hadn't heard of this until it had been on. Is it a proper series or a serious of one off type pieces?

Two series, three episodes apiece, all unconnected.
Very bizarre programmes and certainly very original. Try get them on 4OD or something, especially the last one of the first series which is the best of the lot so far.
