I actually thought it was a little bit contrived and quite predictable, I preferred the episodes in the first series. As an aside, the main character reminded me of Billy Piper. I said to the missus that she looked like Billie Piper but she reckoned I was wrong. I'll show her this later ;D I liked it. The x factor type one is still my favourite so far but thought last nights was still excellent. The end spoilt it slightly. I won't say any more for fear of spoilers in case someone has it recorded.

'The Walking Dead' season three has restarted. I downloaded and watched it on Monday, to much disappointment. IMO quite possibly the poorest episode of the entire three series so far.

I've not seen it yet am waiting on UK premier on Friday. First part of Series 2 was a bit lame but rest has been top telly! The 2 books (Rise of The Governer and The Road to Woodbury) that work as prequels alongside the TV series really develop the character of The Governer tracking his life from the outbreak and well worth a read if your a TWD fan. The books are only a fiver veach from Amazon. 2 webisodes out there too for those who like the series but weren't aware.

I have graphic novel book 8 to read. The TV series is good, but the original books are far superior.
Are the two you mention also graphic novels?
Also, have you played the game? I completed it t'other week - you'll love it, another excellent storyline.

I quite enjoyed the recent episode but it did feel a little transitional to me compared to the others in this series. Seems like they're setting a few things in place for a big finish and looking ahead to the next series with the introduction of new characters.
TWD game was superb. Really enjoyable storyline to it and I'd highly recommend it. Not a fan of the point and click type game play but it worked really well for this game...I'm looking forward to the follow up this year.
Thoroughly enjoying the comics. It feels like they're building up to something big in that, too. It feels a wee bit similar to the Governer story at the moment though.

I will get the comics someday but for now they are not at the top of my list of things to blow pennies on.
Not played the game. Is that the one centred on Merl and Daryl? I will give it a try.
I'm more of a boardgamer. There is an official board game by Z-man but it's had poor reviews so won't be bothering with that.
The books are novels (i.e. not comic) at around 300 pages each. Cowritten by Kirkman and some other fellow. They aren't classics but still good hokem and as said above they are to be read as part of the TV series. I understand that although the TV series is broadly based on the graphic novel the outcomes for characters can be quite different.
Season 4 has been commisioned which is good news.

****THE WALKING DEAD - Series 3 MINI SPOILER ALERT********************* 'The Walking Dead' season three has restarted. I downloaded and watched it on Monday, to much disappointment. IMO quite possibly the poorest episode of the entire three series so far. Nah, wasn't great but series 2 was full of much worse episodes. Was turning into a boring soap opera and I nearly stopped watching all together. Don't want to put any spoilers but I'm glad they killed off one of the most irritating characters this season. Overall Season 3 has been decent so far, a massive improvement on the last one.

ha! Oops. I think seeing as the bit I'm talking about has already aired in the UK it shouldn't spoil the fun for anyone who's currently watching it. I'll put a warning at the top of my post in case there are those who haven't started watching the third series yet

Not played the game. Is that the one centred on Merl and Daryl? I will give it a try. Na, it's set on an alternative timeline to the original comic/TV series and is centred around a chap called 'Lee' and a young girl 'Clementine'. It is on PS3, 360 or PC and comes in 5 episodes - I think they are £3.99 each or £15.99 for the lot. It is highly reccomended and drawn in the style of the original comics. Atmospheric and gripping, it is all about the storyline, which is great.

God yeah, that character needed a slap. Michonne needs a bit of a slap in the TV series too.
I didn't mind the second series too much, I watched the first half of it in a couple of sittings and I think may have helped it flow a bit better.

I need help. I've got a scene in my head from either a tv programme or a film and can't think for the life of me what it is. Does this ring any bells with anyone?
A new president is taken into a room to make the call on a military decision to bomb some vehicles driving through Iraq that they aren't sure are friendly or not. He doesn't know what to do and is strongly against it. He backs down and orders the strike, taking out the targets. But later it turns out that the planes had flown into Iranian air space, so caused a bit of bother.
Can't remember any more than that, or who's in it...
