That'll be the Scott Carson role signed up for him, so that they can comply with the number of english players needed in the squad to maintain the quota. Nice gig - probably a decent wage, for not doing much. Down sides, he has to live somewhere near Newcastle... Northumberland is a beautiful county got the lot in terms of a place to live as long as you’re hardy type to face the winter. An outstanding coastline and beaches, especially north of Newcastle

Northumberland is a beautiful county got the lot in terms of a place to live as long as you’re hardy type to face the winter. It's got a bit on the black country and birmingham. That bit just between Newcastle and the Scottish Borders is one of the nicest parts of the country. Likewise Four Oaks in Sutton Coldfield where Ruddy has been living has a bit of everything by that you could wish within an hour of it. Some of you need to escape the Cambridge bubble.

If it doesn't have the abbey within a 30 minute cycle it's awful. I don't make the rules.

Winter brings its own charms, that's for sure! You wouldn't want to be doing too much travelling when the winter bites though!

That was what I was thinking, I can't imagine Cowley putting up with any nonsense from him.
Looks like his contract is for 1 year.
