I think it's a good idea. If only because it wouldn't fun to hear what they pick and Courtneysthumb is right, it's them that need psyching up, not the fans. We'll respond to whats happening on the pitch.

When my old man boxed for his regiment, he used to listen to 'TNT' by AC/DC before a fight to get him pumped.
Could do the same for our players?

Get your dad in the dressing room before the match to punch them all in the face. That should get the blood pumping.

Footballers are renowned for having absolutely abysmal music taste.

The reason I stopped playing Judas Priest's 'United' as the entrance music was because the players liked 'Sandstorm'. I can promise the fans of 'Priest that a slightly abridged version of 'United' will be played regularly at next season's home games though.

We played 'United' for a number years as I recall, and I never really understood why on earth we decided to change it to the bilge we have nowadays. For the yoof, innit!

Who decides the pre match crap we have to endure? All the lining up to shake hands and dick about before the game starts. Is that the sponsors or the FA who make the call.
It's not necessary. Lets go back to the old days of running out of the tunnel, the captains shake hands and we kick off.
The entrance music might actually be of some significance then.

I think it's a FIFA / FA thing. Certainly not the sponsors, why would they give a rubbish?

I quite agree. It's all about respect, keep it 'til after the game. I want them to show no mercy before and during the match.

Sorry but I can't stand 'United' by Judas Priest. It's so fucking contrived! I wasn't a great fan of Sham's 'If the kids are united....' but it's better than JP. Did we ever agree which song should accompany a non-winning exit from the ground? Used to be 'Out of reach' by Gabrielle about ten years or so ago. I still like that, saddish but contemplative too. Will have a think about the 'front end' music.

Perhaps not...
