I remember the new stand going up, but too young to remember why. What was the reasoning for giving the away fans a brand new stand? Was there much complaining from the fans? The reasoning was that the new NRE was going to follow straight away, therefore, not an issue that away fans had the most modern facilities because it wasn't going to be for long...

Wolves built a massive new stand that was supposed to be the first of 4 & put a bit for away fans in with a shite view in the corner. Then didn’t do the rest. So they’ve now either got the shite view or the old horrible side on bit they’ve always had hahaha
Like someone else said it’s not a tea party. Villa fans were put in an actual enclosed metal cage in Bosnia this year.
I know we’re from Cambridge but some of us are far too nice

Given there's going to be a lot of clubs selling their allocation out regardless we can be a bit tinpot. There's more scope to grow in the home areas.
It'll be good practice too as when we start closing stands it'll be full every week in the South Stand so we might as well have a year or two dress rehearsal.

I wonder if this decision is because the owners don't expect there to be a Habbin stand (as we know it) for some / most of the season....

This is all very interesting. Some thoughts. If they put the seats in the uncovered area of the terrace it might not reduce the capacity that much as that bit isn’t counted. By having home fans in the South Stand it can become allocated seating and that allows us to use its full capacity and not reduce it by 10% ad at present.
I wonder how they put them in, maybe on a scaffold base stuck on the terrace to make it a bit higher. Planning might be needed for that but perhaps there is some way round it even for a basic roof.

I would assume the 1st few rows would be seats otherwise it would be a poor view with fences and standing fans blocking views.

Had not considered that, would provide a pretty poor view with everyone walking in front and the fence in the middle blocking the corner. Away fans get it too good these days. We will defo be bringing back a classic awful away end experience for anyone using them.

I wonder if this decision is because the owners don't expect there to be a Habbin stand (as we know it) for some / most of the season.... It will be years before any stands are demolished and rebuilt These things take a while to get going - planning permission is complicated and there are multiple parties involved (the club, SC and council plus residents) all of whose needs have to be understood and met. If we can get planning consent by end summer 24 then I would hope the SC build and relocation takes place in 24-25 season, allowing the NRE to be knocked down and rebuilt in 25-26 season. The Habbin rebuild would be a few years behind that, I would expect...

"...away supporters will be allocated the Intelligent Membranes South Habbin Stand, with 100 covered seats to be installed in the summer to meet EFL regulations." The 100 seats in the South Habbin will be facing the Common.
