I wonder if this decision is because the owners don't expect there to be a Habbin stand (as we know it) for some / most of the season.... It will be years before any stands are demolished and rebuilt I’d have thought it would start at the end of next season and be finished pdq.

When we went through the design/planning process last time (JG & DD era), the problem I had with it was, all the pictures from the outside were all very nice, but I want to see what the new stands look like from inside the ground - how the terracing (if any), tiers and Exec Boxes stack up. Some grounds I have been to look very impressive from the outside - but pretty tinpot from inside. I don't want to be seduced into a lovely looking stand/s from the outside, but then the match day experience is underwhelming!
Am I asking too much for whenever we get to see the new plans - I might be 6 foot under by then!

To be fair the previous plans were essentially an ‘artists impression’ of what it might look like, nothing even close to the kind of actual architectural blueprints that will be needed for a planning application.
Assuming we’re actually approaching that stage of submitting a planning application, by their very nature the plans will be detailed and show what the entire proposal is intended to look like in reality.

So the Plans we see in the summer will be the full ones we submit for Planning? Doubt it very much - we will see Artists impression as we did before. Like I said - be nice to see a more detailed impressions.

No more than an idle thought really but with the South Stand now allocated to Home tickets, will that be the end we will choose to attack in the second half when we're chasing an equaliser/looking for an 82nd winner/hoping to add a 5th as we're beating Pish 4-0?

So I susepct when they do reveal it'll have more detail than that. Hopefully we'll get somthing soon but all will be available once planning permission is filed at the end of summer. The club really need to get the pubilc behind this project before it gets to the planners.

Given the delays we have had with issuing/showing plans already I did wonder if that is because of semantics in the background and reducing (hopefully) the likelihood of any objections/appeals. I won't get too excited just yet as these things do take time but as rewsan states it's the furthest we've got so far with plans, and with owning the ground and the financial backing it's definitely a case of when rather than if now.

They will want to start on the NRE 5 mins after the end of next seasons last home game.

Or is that going in at the same time as the stadium works? I suspect the earliest we'll be able to start the NRE would be 2 years from now (assuming we're not in the playoffs).

The car hire area has already been cleared and the rental company gone.
Now it’s not generating an income I should think the club would be keen to start asap.

This is all very interesting. Some thoughts. If they put the seats in the uncovered area of the terrace it might not reduce the capacity that much as that bit isn’t counted. By having home fans in the South Stand it can become allocated seating and that allows us to use its full capacity and not reduce it by 10% ad at present. I wonder how they put them in, maybe on a scaffold base stuck on the terrace to make it a bit higher. Planning might be needed for that but perhaps there is some way round it even for a basic roof. They are going to put 100 seats in South Habbin not outside of it. I think cufcfan knows that! but he does have a point. maybe the un-used area of the south Habbin could be used in future by putting a temporary roof structure over it.
