They do.
Very happy to have this quoted back at me in a few months' time but, as good a player as Szmodics is, I have this nagging feeling he's not going to cut it at that level. Just something about the way he plays that makes me think he's another inhabitant of the Cameron Jermone Liminal Zone between the Championship and the Premier League.

Liminal zone legend, mind.
Feel like he's one you'd get 15 PL goals out of of he'd been in the side you came up with, but here feels like 5 goals tops.

£9m seems a bargain for Szmodics - let’s hope Posh don’t have a sell on According to the local boro newspaper: Reports in Blackburn tonight have suggested that’s 10% of the profit which, if the quoted sale figures are correct would be around £820k.

Not quite the circa £20m they were hoping to get from a £100m Ivan Toney transfer Was listening to Darragh MacAnthony on TalkSport trying to sound philosophical about the prospect of Toney winding down his contract and walking for free, but it was about as convincing as the average acting performance in Hollyoaks. Yeah, i don't think Szmodics will be much consolation.

Don't think any of us would enjoy that lot benefitting from a huge windfall but to put things in perspective, where would an £820k fee rank in the list of our all time outgoing transfers? I'm sure someone knows more than me but I'd guess 2nd or 3rd ! Not sure we can be too smug about it to be honest.

I'm sure someone knows more than me but I'd guess 2nd or 3rd ! Not sure we can be too smug about it to be honest. I'm not being smug, I'm just happy to see them miss out on what would be an absolutely game changing windfall for them, as all U's fans should be. I fully recognise that they're in a much stronger financial position in terms of funds available for their playing staff and I actually think they've done a terrific job for many years on recruitment - something that I know some of our fans disagree with - but, said through gritted teeth, I see what's happening there and respect it greatly from a recruit-and-sell perspective. We need to aim to do the same, once we're in a position to do so. Of course, they have been given a huge advantage through the investment / debt MacAnthony put onto the club, whilst we were in non-league and someone else owned our ground, unable to compete. So there's no question they've had opportunities to work this business model which we have not. But how many other clubs burn through money buying shite after shite (Chelsea!)? P*sh have consistently spent well, using that investment to find young players with the talent to play in the Premier League, signed them, developed them, and sold them of for a significant profit. Someone will dig out some of their failed ventures too, I expect, but overall I think the policy has worked to keep them competitive in the third tier. So, reluctant respect to them for what they have done, but hah-diddly-f*cking-ha that they're probably not going to make a penny back on Ivan Toney.

Seems strange that statement doesn’t include the words “and assistant Paul Raynor” after the words “Steve Evans”.

I’d never listened to the UTAS pods until they did the retrospective on the 2013/14 season. I thought it was really good, well put together, great interviews, very enjoyable. However..it lead me to listen to their pre season preview and the first couple of game previews. Talk about sucking the enjoyment out of supporting your club. Christ sake guys, try not to be so negative and sarcastic about absolutely everything!

Last episode was fairly positive I'd have said, but fair play.
More concerning is the POWER PLAY to USURP this place with the so called UTAS chats.
