I feel you’re missing my point. Strang should go because of the people he has employed i.e. the players. Ergo whoever employed Strang should be held accountable for their “bad signing” and so on Theoretically, how do you hold an owner to account? Taxation. Assassins. A strongly worded letter.

That's definitely up there as a freak injury! Though 'out for a while' seems odd to me, I get they want the wound to heal a certain amount but it's not like you use your thumb playing football? Or are they fearful he'll land on it and that will be enough for it to 'break off'.

Reminds me of the Daryl Clare broken finger lay off, at the time we couldn't understand why he was sidelined for so long with a hand injury. Reflecting on it, a break is more serious and there was a risk of further damage if he landed on it, but this BBC report suggests a month out for Tuanzebe, which for a deep cut seems a bit extreme. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/c30l9jqqdy1o

Well they thought he potentially could lose his thumb, so it's likely there's also tendon/ligament damage or concern about it. Plus infection for a cut that deep.

Agree, the headline is a cut thumb, the reality is that the damage is a lot deeper than that. But with strapping and dressings, you would have thought a month is a cautious estimate.

Duplicitous victim player, referee abuser and gallery playing supposed "breath of fresh air and man of the people" Jürgen Klopp is joining Red Bull football group as overseer of the fields.
What a nonce.

I've added this as a warning in the appendix to the forthcoming revised edition of my Fiddling tract.

What a nonce. That title, 'Head of Global Soccer' sounds like something I once read in one of my 'Starblazers' sci-fi comics (printed and published by DC Thomson & Co, 1980).

Darry Clare eh? Heh. We thought we had signed this 1 goal in 2 games striker. He scored just the one goal in a United shirt - in a 5-0 stroll over Gateshead here at the R Costings Stadium - and we got the 1 goal in 20 games version of Daryl Clare instead.

Yeah it’s a shame we didn’t get him over the line when he was supposedly set to sign a few years earlier, before ending up at Burton. I forget where the story comes from, (if I read it on here I’d probably discount it tbf) but I vaguely remember hearing a few years ago that everything was set for him to sign under Newman, at the start of our second conference season. Allegedly he was on his way to the ground with his agent for the medical etc, only to get a call from the club that the physio was off sick and to come the next day instead. In the meantime the agent gets a call from Nigel Clough and we ended up with the return of Marcus Richardson instead.

Not quite so sure about those specifics, but he was set to sign for us that season yeah.
