Beach Boys - Surfs Up Strokes - Is This It Pulp - Different Class Weezer - Blue Album Primal Scream - Screamadelica
Since all of my cds got packed up in to storage (to save on `clutter` apparently) I have been listening to full albums less and less. Half the time now it just seems to be a selection of songs by a chosen artist or a playlist decided on by an algorithim on Amazon Music. It`s just not the same.

Twilight Sad - Fourteen Autumns & Fifteen Winters 5. Unrest - Imperial F.F.R.R I'm a big fan of PJH and I do enjoy all the stuff she's put out throughout the years, bar The Hope Six one as I think it sounds like a collection of Let England Shake outtakes. That didn't stop me from really trying to like it though, but to no avail sadly. So as you can imagine it's a bit hard for me to pick her best record, but there's something about ITD that makes it more intriguing to me than her other ones. Plus, if I were to compile a 'best of PJ' album, I'm sure that a good 5/6 tracks would be ones of ITD BTW, well done sir for picking The God Machine. 'Scenes' is a truly great album, and so is the one they put out after it, 'One last laugh'. Such a shame they only recorded two albums.

I will no doubt miss an obvious one, but without over-thinking it I will go for:
Jesus and Mary Chain - Psychocandy Mogwai - The Hawk Is Howling Deafheaven - Sunbather Pixies - Doolittle Spacemen 3 - Sound Of Confusion Biffy Clyro - Only Revolutions Slipknot - Vol 3 The Subliminal Verses
Sorry, 5 really isn't enough...!

Hadn’t heard that in about 30 years. Never did own it myself but played my sisters’ copy until it was worn out. Was heading to Birmingham yesterday and after the trigger of this ^^^^ post downloaded the album and hammered it out back to back on the drive up. Thank you for that one! The vinyl to CD to digital download transition is an emotive subject which has been touched on by others already. I miss the sense of excitement and ownership that buying an ‘LP’ brought, but much prefer the efficiency of digital. I’m mixed about that. ‘Owning’ and playing the vinyl back in 1986 felt like something special. But, 2019 and being able to search, find and download the same album in less than 60 seconds and be playing it in the car minutes later is quite remarkable too. Very different times.

I have been known to dabble with classical music, my particular favourite is Larks Rising by Vaughan Williams I like to read the YouTube comments while listening to the music. Always amazed at the number of views classical pieces have too - 50 million is not uncommon. The comments around Vaughan Williams piece were particularly uplifting. Interesting how Pachelbel’s tended to make people sad but V.W’s the opposite. Lots of sharing of emotions and plenty of considered responses too. Evidently very helpful for some people in very difficult situations, which is no bad thing.

The best way into Hope Demolition was the live show they put together in 2017. I would really like to have seen a live album made of one of those, but there's plenty online to go on. God Machine are a band that (although in tragic circumstances) I'm glad ended when they did. Two LPs and a handful of EPs, all of them near-perfect, and then burn out. I enjoy Robin's Sophia stuff, but GM live at the top of their game was something else entirely. Check the clips on youtube of them closing their Reading set with 'Home', when the guitar amp goes down and they do virtually the whole song with just the Voix Bulgares sample track. I'll stop gushing now.

SLF - Inflammable Material. Wedding Present - Bizzaro. British Sea Power - The Decline of British Sea Power. Luna - Penthouse. Afghan Whigs - 1965.
As Nuts says though, 5 just doesn't work.
Could be entirely different next week.

George Best and Seamonsters anniversary gigs weren't too shoddy either. Just had a look at Bizzaro tour. Not too many close to Cambridge. Stowmarket looks worth a shout.
