30th anniversary of Bizzaro this year, if the 20th Anniv gigs were anything to go by it will be a riot! It will. George Best and Seamonsters anniversary gigs weren't too shoddy either. Just had a look at Bizzaro tour. Not too many close to Cambridge. Stowmarket looks worth a shout. I keep hoping that they will release a nearer date, Stowmarket means driving!! I did go to Northampton Road menders for George Best 30th which is a fantastic venue. They played Tommy at Storeys Field which was a bit of an odd place for a gig. In the last 10 years they have also played both the J1 a number of times & J2 in Cambridge which I am sure they warrant.

Brian Falloon remains my percussion hero despite it being so short-lived. I still practice the rolls on State of Emergency to this day!

Tough question- I will base it on albums from the vinyl collection---
1-Neil Young- After the Gold rush. 2-Oasis- What's the story morning Glory. 3-Blink 182- Take of your pants and Jacket. 4- Beatles- Sgt Peppers lonely hearts club band. 5-The Smiths-Hatful of Hollow.
Apologies to Alanis Morrisette and The Pogues.

Was digging through some old 45s in the loft at the weekend. I don't know the guys, although bizarrely brushed shoulders with one outside the social club at Brisbane Rd once, but think this could be for sheffyoos and shubs:

Society is a top song. Seen the Ruts play it live a couple of times back in the day. In related news, I was jumping around in the kitchen to Back Biter the other night after having a few. They really did knock out some great tunes.

In my head, I let it slide as it has different versions from John Peel sessions so it feels like it has its own identity. Would not even fight the corner if it was the same versions!!

Hatful is quite simply excellent, it's my second fav Smiths release; their debut is my no 1. It's definitely up there as far as compilation albums go.
Speaking of comp albums, right now I'm struggling to think of many others that I really enjoy. The fact that basically there are three varieties of comp albums (the usual 'Best of' stuff/the complete singles ones/the Hatful type ones) does complicate things a little, for obvious reasons. All I know is that I consider the 'best of' and 'singles' stuff as more of samplers than proper compilations.

Imho, somewhere between beauty, anger, desperation and hope!!
