There was a time when P*sh were completely out of sight, a Championship club while we toiled in the Conference. I think you’d have to concede we were ‘in their shadow’ at that time. But now that gap has narrowed substantially and it’s within the grasp of any reasonable person to conceive that we might be in the same division next season.
One day we’ll meet them again on an even footing and I can’t think of a single fixture I’d want to win more than that one.

I wonder if the recall of Worman/Neil says anything to the extent of Mullin/Ironside's injury? It wouldn't make much sense to recall both for a 20 minute kick about with Pish's reserves, but I guess its better than twiddling their thumbs while non-league is largely out of action. I assume we can loan them out again in January. If lower level football resumes in December they'll miss a few games, but will have at least played 1 game and trained in the meantime. If they stayed they're not even allowed to train, which won't be great for their development.

On the subject of biased radio Cambs why is it they always refer to the scum as the posh while we are always referred to as Cambridge United? That small point proves to me where their alllegiences lie.

Pleasantly surprised that we won the shoot out. The Scum had a huge advantage given that their kepper has 6 fingers on each hand. You missed out Webbed It must be a struggle to get gloves, though

I liked Bonners interview again. At the end when he spots Dunky-babes and shouts "Dunks..class!" is pretty cute. Love it.
Obviously this competition is a farce but if I have to find positives then a first goal for Ben Worman, a debut for Joe Neal and the overall involvement of five academy players is reason enough to be pleased.

It is a truly terrible nickname. "United" ditto. We should be "the Scholars" or something along those lines. Perhaps "the Founders" to acknowledge the Cambridge rules. Even something like "the Boatmen" would be an improvement.

How about 'the abbots'? We do, after all, live in an abbey...

Founders maybe but not sure that any of those have any relevance to our roots. No, very much more Cambridge-related rather than Cambridge Utd, but that's generally what club nicknames are if they're not derived from the kit colours – Northampton FC were founded by a group of teachers, not cobblers, for instance; Morecambe are "the Shrimps". We are the football team of Cambridge & Cambridge is synonymous with learning, even if that doesn't really reflect anything to do with our club. Although the clamour for the book'n'ball crest suggests many people aren't that fussed by the distinction anyway. Quite like the Abbots.

'Founders' is a good one. It sort of rather arrogantly suggests that the rest of the footballing World needs to look up to us with a degree of awe. Nothing not to like about that!
