"What a load of rubbish. Why do people have a fascination of trying to change the club and who we are.
It’s not the most interesting name or most sexy. But it’s our CUFC, and that’s how it should stay.
We don’t need to ‘glam it up’ or change the fucking badge"
Yeah, broadly agree. I do think the badge and nickname are naff but they're ours and I embrace that part of us.
I don't mind things like that changing but it should be an organic process if it ever happened. Things like the moose came about that way rather than someone having to design it.

It is a truly terrible nickname. "United" ditto. We should be "the Scholars" or something along those lines. Perhaps "the Founders" to acknowledge the Cambridge rules. Even something like "the Boatmen" would be an improvement. Could combine the intellectual theme with the boat one and go with ‘the Cunning Punts’. Massive opportunity for a Spoonerism there

I'm a fan of tradition so maybe 'the wasps' but I wouldn't mind if we used the nickname 'the ewes'.
I really never feel comfortable with the colour yellow being associated with us. We are black and amber.

Always struck me as very naff

Was there really any need for Sunderland to change their nickname just because they moved stadiums?
The Cantabs would be appropriate for us as an abbreviation of Cantabrigian?

But it’s our CUFC, and that’s how it should stay. You mean like when we stayed as Abbey United rather than changing the name to Cambridge United, or when we didn't bother introducing our current badge in 1986?

First person to suggest "The Dons" will be strung up by the testicles from a floodlight pylon. For those to young to remember , during the Beck glory years when we actually received (grudgingly) a modicum of attention from the national press , a certain rag - I won't call it a newspaper because frankly I wouldn't wipe my arse with it - decided without consulting anyone that we were to be known as The Dons. Thankfully most people who bought it just looked at the pictures instead of reading it so it never caught on.

Chants aimed at the players referencing female sheep would be a bit too embarrassing for all concerned I think! It's a pity the club's fans haven't managed to come up with something decent that's stuck in the hunted years or so they've had so far. If the club still exists in another hunted years and still goes as the U's I'm sure that generation of fans will be bemoaning their predecessors so I think it's time we did have a decent nickname if we can come up with one and make it stick.

I like “U’s” but then I’m a traditionalist. I dislike all of the other nicknames mentioned so far as I don’t associate it with us.
