I like “U’s” but then I’m a traditionalist. I dislike all of the other nicknames mentioned so far as I don’t associate it with us. Me too, something great to hear "Come on you U's" with the crowd in full voice as we win a Corner in front of the NRE ! Ugh, missing the Abbey, Big Time ! Sounds like you haven't been for about 15 years.

Am I right in saying the black cats was the result of a fans vote? Mackems being the organic version. Always struck me as very naff They were the Rokerites when they played at Roker Park. Should have kept the name rather than trash their history. Tbf, they couldn't think of an original name for their new ground, so it was only to be expected.

New badge eh? Let's keep it nice and simple then. I would welcome something like this - in amber, black and white colours of course.

Interesting that League One teams obviously take this competition seriously - twelve of them in the last sixteen (including seven of the top ten), with just three League Two teams (us, the Vale and Tranmere) and one U 21 outfit.

I feel like football is going to have to be super vigilant over the next few years. If it's not the European super League rearing it's unwelcome head again, it'll be B-Teams or... something else.
Whatever it is you can be fairly certain that somebody somewhere will be coming up with a way that protects those poor big six.

Let this be a warning to all those who say it will never happen here.
