In the same way it was a warning when it happened here and people still said it wouldn't happen here?

"For one season" Yeah, Jimmy Hill.
But, being controversial here, anyone who boycotts the Football league trophy but suppprted United using St Neots as a nursery club is a bit of a hypocrite

There are already reserve / b teams competing in non league aren’t there? Weren’t our B team - CRC in the same league as Histon reserves for instance? I don’t blame big clubs and their fans for wanting b-teams in FL anyway, it’s obviously in their interests, I blame the EFL authorities and the likes of our club’s old board for welcoming it.

Tuesday night sees us begin our EFL Trophy (now known as the Leasing.com Trophy) campaign at home to Northampton Town. Previously, United fans have stayed away from this competition in their droves. But is there really any point in boycotting? 1) United have to play in this completion, the club has no choice 2) Not turning up costs the club money 3) It is disheartening for the players to play in front of such low crowds, so shouldn't supporters turn up and give them our support? 4) The EFL are seemingly not going to change their minds despite the extremely low attendances Obviously, people can go or not go to any matches as they choose. But is boycotting going to achieve anything? It hasn't seemed to make any difference so far. Personally, I am totally against the inclusion of B Teams. But is staying away really going to make any difference? Maybe treat these games like Pre-season games and reduce the entrance fee, perhaps freebies for STH?

Not sure why this is being brought up, but they do reduce the cost for Trophy games significantly.

You continue to support B teams playing in EFL competitions then - they aren’t friendlies. Blood on your hands if it happens, but hopefully the woeful attendance figures are taken into consideration too. And I am a season ticket holder and wouldn’t attend if they paid me.

They could offer to pay me to turn up - but as I care about the future of the sport and see the inclusion of B Teams in any professional competition as the real danger it is - I still wouldn't be going.

U's and Pish haven't been strategically placed in the same group in an attempt to manufacture a derby this season: Oxford, Stevenage and one of the U21 sides who get drawn tomorrow.
(EDIT - obviously Peterborough aren't actually in the competition this season)

Little did they know....

Right, balls to this competition obviously.
However, it does give us a bit of an opportunity to give a few like Jankester and Knibbs their match legs which will benefit us in the long run.
Bonner mentioned Iredale was nursing a knock so I imagine we'll rest him off until September 11nd now. We might want to do the same with Jones as he was another mentioned as carrying a knock but I'm not sure we'll see a change with only Mamadou as back up. Personally I'd start him, and I'd start with Bennett too.
Is Weir available or will he be on England duty?
I reckon we'll see either Mannion or KML too. It'll be interesting to see which of them is first pick back up.

I'm just outright boycotting it. Not watching at the ground or streaming it. I'll only go back to watching these games if B teams are removed.

No, it'll still be used as proof that people want to pay to watch the game.
