Both.
The conversation has been had over several repetitive pages. All it is now is trolling and accusations. It's getting tedious.
Make your decisions and live with the consequences. By now we've all picked a side and probably won't be convinced to change it.

Yep and then they’ll stop them from being promoted from League 1, then you get the top three all being B teams so no promotion then the closed shop the Prem/Champ want. Remember Gartside and his comment to stop relegation from the Championship? It’s all in their minds to “protect their brand”. Can’t believe anyone is remotely comfortable about us playing in the same cup as B Teams, thin end of the wedge is already in. Is that based on fact or fear? Germany have B teams and they don't dominate the 3rd tier (and German football has lots to admire about it like ticket prices etc...) But then some people do not like change, and would rather we were in the days of 1 match at best on TV & MotD instead of the amount of football we can watch now. Even IF B teams were allowed in the league, AND were 1,2 & 3, it could easily be the top 3 non-B teams get promoted even if they were 4,5,6 for example. But then I don't think B teams would be allowed into the league as owners would not want that. I don't recall seeing demand (especially from us in last few years) that we open up L2 to 3 conference teams as the difference between the 2 leagues is marginal. That would be a fairer thing to do wouldn't it? But then the same people who are so anti B teams are probably also the ones that decry new teams coming up like FGR, Crawley and other 'tinpot' clubs while lamenting the 'proper clubs' like Wrexham. Personally I don't really have an opinion either way, no problem with B teams in or out. of this trophy. Sports writers and experts up and down the country have all stated the clear disastrous risk of B teams in the pyramid. Henry Winter in the times "B teams nonsense floated again. Would ruin leagues’ flow & sporting integrity, destroy much-loved clubs and damage communities. Pyramid needs protecting. PL clubs should look at their players, see how many developed in EFL & realise it’s in their self-interest to support pyramid". Kieran Maguire who runs the "Price of Football" thinks it's ridiculous and will do more harm, especially to northern clubs like Oldham than any good. Guardiola has always been a big advocate for adding B teams, but even the Man City reporter for their local press has rubbished the idea, so much so that he wrote an article telling fans to openly oppose their manager. www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/guardiola-man-city-efl-news-21643737English football isn't the most advanced or the best but what it does have is the most depth and strongest football pyramid in the world. B teams work in Spain because they have a different culture and smaller pyramid. Every club up and down the country represents a city, or a town, or a community that's part of what makes it so great. Why should clubs like Bolton, Charlton, Bradford and every other professional lower league club that has been around 100 years be belittled to the extent that they have to play competitive games against some oil rich super club's 18 year olds? And anyway these 18 olds would probably be at the lower league clubs playing first team football if the Premier League clubs didn't have so many players. Why do these clubs even have so many players that they need a second team? Because they hoard players like a kid hoards Pokémon cards. Every top 6 club has enough players in their first team, U23, and academy to fill 4 teams. They pinch kids from lower league clubs for hardly any money, only for them to never play a game for the first team. How many players have we lost to top 6 clubs in recent years? One to Spurs, two to Chelsea, a local lad from Bottisham was picked up by Man City. Now how many of them have actually become first team players? The Spurs player is now at Luton, one of the Chelsea players is now in Belgium, the Man City lad is on loan in League 1. If these clubs are allowed actual B teams in the pyramid then the hoarding won't stop it will just continue.

Top post Rozza. The idea of B teams in our system is abhorrent. It's like saying wealthier people should have more than one vote in an election. Sorry, no.

We play wibblers, Ipshit and an as yet unannounced U21 team this season.
Great opportunities for our many many young players. It's such a shame what they've done to this competition, I used to love getting to see some of the fringe players.

Still awaiting confirmation of the order of the group fixtures for this increasingly popular competition Dunno if it's people boycotting or its just a case of people not wanting pay, or be assed to get to a reserve/ youth team fixture.

Attendances were always slightly lower than league fixtures before, but now they're massively lower. Easy way to be sure is to simply kick the youth teams out and see what happens...

That's a good point . But I meant seeing both sides fielding their reserves and youth teamers cause that's what happens mostly, certainly us. (Not exactly what the prem L wants anyway, our reserves playing their reserves). I find that quite funny actually!

If it weren't for the Pizza cup would Liam Bennett have broken into the first team and be on loan at Walsall this season? Just a thought.

Nope, almost certainly probably not. Simper too actually. This competition in all its cloaks has always been excellent for that. I think it might have been one of the first times we saw Morro too actually (against Chester in 2004?). I've always valued this cup and enjoyed attending them. Hopefully we see a few more given experience in the cup this year too (Holden, Yearn, Beckett, Jobe, Akanbi, McConnell for example)
None of which needs B-Teams in the competition to happen, of course. I hope they change it back to what it was, and I hope the boycott hasn't lasted so long now that it essentially becomes an indifference. I'd love for the crowds to jump back up to the mid 1000's it used to be.
