"Well, if you work for somebody you are spending a lot of the company's time on here
Stealing a living ?
Don't you feel guilty about that ?
And before you ask, I'm retired, have spent over 50 years working many 12 hour days and often 7 days a week"
I wasn't going to ask. Mainly because it's a pretty boring story, but also because it has nothing to do with this conversation.

Bring back the death penalty Funny how the left are paranoid about the manifestation of a right wing government and it’s supporters, then do exactly what’s required to give further traction to, err.... a right wing government and its supporters. How’s XR’s Cambridge campaign to win the hearts and minds going by the way? Not sure how many more times you can shoot yourselves in the foot but at just one day in there must be more time for a few beauties yet. Keep up the good work 🙂

Bring back the death penalty Keep up the good work 🙂 Cambcam - nice to see you up and about before Pointless starts, old boy! I think Les here could have the credentials for your University of the Third Age Jazz Appreciation class? 'have spent over 50 years working many 12 hour days and often 7 days a week'

Must admit I thought both TSFOR and Les weren't being serious but perhaps Les was? He certainly wins the prize for the most misguided personal attack on this message board, at least for today.
I am not a big supporter of XR's tactics but I know why they have chosen them. Surely all right minded people have the same objective as XR ie to get people to take action to control climate change? Or do we have, despite Australia burning and the Midlands being under water, some actual climate change deniers on here?
By trying to shock, XR are trying to force people to think about the issue, and take some greater personal responsibility. Our government is truly feeble on the topic, not surprising given their huge conflicts of interests. XR could take a less intrusive approach, but does anyone believe that would be more effective?
By the way, lawns do grow back, it's hardly a major act of vandalism, and it has grabbed headlines.

'have spent over 50 years working many 12 hour days and often 7 days a week' Ha yes, nice to see you have good internet coverage from Trinity College too Spyros my old mucker. I am only a few years older than you so and it wasn’t Pointless that got me up and at ‘em, more a desire to decamp from the city before rush hour. The wife will be joining me this evening with our diesel-fuelled carbon footprint enough to give you guys a figurative and literal coronary. A little more notice next time would be appreciated though, it’s quite tricky getting flights at short notice. Have fun.

The only publicity they're getting is local. Don't they realise that the media only covers events that occur in London?
Also the police shouldn't just stand aside for criminal damage. Not worth the death penalty but bang them in the cells for a few hours.

Once again your post starts with a statement that is demonstrably untrue. It's a lead story on the BBC national newsfeed for example.

If you mean am I being serious about bringing the Army in ,Yes I am
P.s And as for saying the Lawn will soon grow back you obviously know very little about gardening.
Try telling Ian Darler that and see what answer you get.
If a Lawn is dug up all you are left with is soil. A lawn will not grow from that , just weeds

All I see is gammons getting redder in the face, getting offended by other people's view points and engaging in slacktavism. And on the other foolisly misguided attempt by the 'left' to push an (albeit important) issue but coming across as thugs and vandals. I personally find it depressing how saving the environment is becoming a political or a decisive issue when it should be something we all really around. Sadly the political discourse in this country is so great we have to pick a side on literally every topic (dictated to you by the newspapers you read or who you follow on twitter) and revel in being 'the winner' even though everyone is losing here.

Once again your post starts with a statement that is demonstrably untrue. It's a lead story on the BBC national newsfeed for example. It wasn't when I searched google two minutes before posting. The only national coverage was the Daily Express, which I wrote off as being the Express. There was one thing in Australia also. I've just checked the BBC news page and the lead story is "No 10 refusing to condemn advisor", under UK. Under England it is Storm Dennis. Scroll down to latest updates and it is there at 16:49: www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-cambridgeshire-51534446?intlink_from_url=https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/england&link_location=live-reporting-story, if it was on the BBC site previously then it was only under local news. May have been on your BBC home page if you have set a local area.

Nobody is getting red in the face in the UK until at least April. If climate change means the seemingly near non-stop rain we have had since around September then everyone will rally round! Even June last year was remarkably wet. More should be made of climate change leading to rain and flooding in the UK. PS What will screw us is a false sense of security from a coming solar minimum. climate.nasa.gov/blog/2910/what-is-the-suns-role-in-climate-change/. From what I've read elsewhere this effect will be over by the 2030s and temperatures will shoot up at that point.

According to the C.E.N
A crime has been recorded for criminal damage, but no arrests have been made as yet
