Every day is a school day at the moment. Most teams seem to be targeting him in one way or another, but on the whole he is coping brilliantly. It takes time to learn all the skills and nuances to different opposition’s approaches and at some point he will get torn apart in one game, but his progression to watch is just a joy. Enjoy him while you can folks.

Favourite CUFC player: Spriggs. Dublin. Pitt. Lennett.
Favourite CUFC match: vs Leicester C (H) 1982. Without that...?

He's Pittish in the way you always think he's going to do something great, but only -ish because he does something great more times that Pitt did.
(Still love you though Courtney...)

What would be an acceptable offer for him.I would like to think it would be pretty hefty given the fact that Pboro and Exeter always seems to get mega money for any of there players that are transferred.

Depends how important is he to us? And how high can he go? There's been at least 5 players signed from League 1 clubs this summer that have gone for over a million, but only one was a defender.

I'd say it's a compliment to him that teams are seeming to try and target his flank - either they think he's a weakness defensively, and hope to exploit it (despite him standing up very well in that aspect so far), or they're trying to push him back so that he can't attack as much.
It looked to me that the plan was to try and isolate him on Saturday, which became more and more telegraphed as the game went on. Liam's ability, coupled with Brophy doing an excellent job too, meant they never really had much joy, barring the one error for the backheader.
Can easily see him going on to have a great career at a higher level.

After nearly the greatest own goal of all time, please please please can we try him on the wing. Maybe for the cup game next Saturday?
He's one of the best attacking minded players we have. He'll be immense on the right or left wing. Just try it Bonner, please.
After tonight, I'm confident that we'd have been better if Brophy had gone left mid, Bennett right mid, Okedina right back, Janneh dropping out.
I think it's fair to say that Bennett is a liability as a right back and he's gonna struggle there always because of his height. Yet, he'll be absolutely immense as a right mid.
I would put good money on him spending most of his career as a winger. I wish our management team would be able to see it.

A "liability" is...nonsense. He's been very good at right back in all but maybe 2-3 games when he had a form wobble which he now seems to have played through.
He's a full back for me. A very good one at this level, I don't see any need to change that right now given that he's a big part of what is statically one of the best defences in the league (the Barnsley game where we conceded four being one he didn't play in!). He'll make mistakes, but overall he had another good game today.

I've always thought this from early on, (playing further forward) even going into the middle Berry esque. Most people I talk to agree with all the above.

He’s a very talented young player who is still learning and developing. Mistakes, poor performances and patches of dodgy form are all a natural part of that.
I’ve no doubt our coaching staff have a very clear understanding of Liam’s strengths, weaknesses and potential.
To my unqualified eye, he looks like someone capable of making a career for himself a level higher than the one he’s at now. And he’ll more than likely do that as a right-back.

I think he'd be a very forgettable winger, maybe National League level, League 2 at a push. He's an exciting fullback though, and yeah wingback would probably be an easier role for him but I bet he's developing a lot more playing in our side than he would for most others. We've adapted to fit him in but with the best defensive record in the league ™️ it's hard to argue that it's not working - shaky moments aside.

I've always thought right mid wouldn't be a better fit for him. Now we seem to play with 2 behind the lone forward, might be an idea to give him a try in the cup there. Okadina could do with a game as well at right back

Sam Smith spent most of his time here on the right wing before eventually going up top. He was better in the latter position.
Digby has recently been moved to pressing centre mid rather than defensive mid. Many saying he's better in the latter position
Brophy started as a left winger and now plays an inverter role on the right. Many saying he's better in the latter position.
Dunk started his career here as a left winger. He's playing his highest level of football as a left back.
Knibbs started his career with us as a striker and eventually moved to a pressing attacking mid role. He was much more effective as the latter.
Yet Bennett is categorically a right back and must always stay there as he'll be poor in any other position...... strange...
Players do change position and it works.
