Great news. 4 out of 5 resigned. Suppose Bennet was always the least likely to sign a longer deal out of the 5 given his personal circumstances but just maybe these 5 had indicated to the club that they wanted to sign a new deal for next season so weren’t on the released list for a good reason. Fingers crossed at 5pm tomorrow afternoon 🤞

Diggers !!!! Yes indeedy do! Just need Rennett to sign now and we can splash a bit of cash on some decent strikers.

Great news. I felt sorry for him when he was being asked to play a role he wasn’t comfortable with.
Once we went back to 4-2-3-1 and had a decent CM next to him he was back to his best.

There's a lot of work still to do, but I'm glad we've got these four players retained. It gives us a more solid core to add to.

Brilliant news. Paul Digby, Mark Bonner and Cambridge United are such a beautifully harmonious combination.

I recently edited a save of Football Manager Touch 17 (I don't like the full version these days, far too much in it), after doing a little research in to which was the best iteration of the game.
I got rid of all the players I wasn't keen on from the 2017 squad and replaced them with some of our current squad and our promotion side. So I've got a 20-year old Paul Mullin up front being supported by Luke Berry.
Anyway, the point is that I also moved a young Paul Digby from Ipswich to the U's and was mildly surprised to see how highly rated he was at the time.
I'm delighted he's re-signed. He is the heart of our team.
Interestingly, Michael Morrison and Ryan Bennett were rated at £5 million in FM17. It's amazing we had them both last season.

I was tempted but it felt like cheating. I didn't get Michael Morrison either, for the same reason.

Delighted. Could have easily moved on after playing every game in such a draining season.
Might be wrong but feels like they are saving Rennett for the big pre-weekend reveal.

Loved that last part of the interview on only wanting players who are going to overachieve or are out to prove a point, we don't want any easy riders.
Its like listening to Bonz

Can we PLEASE get this absolutely brilliant bastard a chant? To the tune of Eleanor Rigby: We’ve got Paul Digby Running around like the General he is You’re in a tizz Agreed that it HAS to be to the tune of Eleanor Rigby. How about: "Our Captain, Paul Digby, Plays in the heart of the midfield, he's desperate to score. Wears number four".

How about: "Our Captain, Paul Digby, Plays in the heart of the midfield, he's desperate to score. Wears number four". That's good. The 'our' at the beginning can be left out, I think, one too many syllables. The word 'heart' is perfect. How's: Captain Paul Digby, Standing up tall as the drive and the heart of the team. Captain Supreme. Needs a second bit with identical timing and the chorus is made for a football chant. Need some ideas though. Ah! Write a chant for our Paul Digbo (the 'bee' at the end of Digby doesn't sound right. Needs to be an 'ah' or 'oh' sound.) What words to describe him and what he does? Brave, strong, a solid defensive wall, supportive, reader of the game. Bombard this thread with Digby-esque words and we shall have our Paul Digby song! PS- 'Neil Horwood thinks his car's a submarine' is the wittiest football chant ever.
