Although it says the badge will be in place for next season, it might not actually be on the kit which I believe is already in manufacture A bit tinpot having a different badge on the shirt to the club badge if that’s correct.

So, according to the Shadow Board minutes the new badge will be in place for the 2024/25 season. Not much time to force the new design through in order to get sorted for new merchandise, season ticket cards etc etc. Sounds like job done. Hope it’s a better effort this time and the new finance it will bring in becomes a reality. If that’s the case that’s very disappointing given all the initial ‘say’ we were told we would all have. They'll force it through no matter the deadline or what any supporters think. I fear our "say" will just be a token gesture that'll get twisted or ignored.

I’ve deliberately held off buying the very expensive merchandise from the club shop because the badge will soon be out of date.
The new badge needs to be a big upgrade or otherwise leave it alone

Impossible that everyone will be happy with the new badge. I think it's a marketing thing, that's where the emphasis will lie: it's to appeal to potential corporate investors.

So the club consulted on the original design, went back to the drawing board with the feedback they got (despite that not being expected), have spent a good chunk of time on that redesign and will consult on it again - yet some still think that its being "forced through"?

Can you explain the timescales then if the new badge/crest is to be in place for next season. Seems pretty tight to involve any rounds of proper consultation, unless we are to have different badges on all sort of things.

Is "we are going to change the badge... It might be to this? It'll definitely happen by 24/25" really a fair and thorough consultation? Because that's all we've actually gotten from them so far.

Back in October when they gave results of the first round of consultation, they said " The Club will maintain its existing crest for the 2024/25 season, with a new design to be launched ahead of the 2025/26 season.". As far as I can see that's still the plan - consult over the summer, introduce the badge during next season, use it on everything the season after.

We were "definitely" changing to the first proposal, until we weren't.

We were "definitely" changing to the first proposal, until we weren't. But we are still definitely changing the badge? That decision seems to be abundantly clear, even though we don't know what too. How can a fair and informed decision be made if they've already made their mind up?

How can a fair and informed decision be made if they've already made their mind up? Because it will be the only sensible way to get things done in a reasonable timeframe. Consultation with a clear time for making the change means you'll get a load of focussed feedback pretty quickly. Consulting on possibly, one day, perhaps changing the badge, maybe, on means things drag on for years and years - which would suit no-one. Half of our fans disliked the new badge, a third of our fans disliked it so much that they didn't want to consider tweaking it. My expectation is that the updated version will be one that more fans like than dislike, but that a third will still hate it and be very loud about it. Curious to find out.
