China cups being thrown at the Gillingham goalkeeper might have been amusing
(Joke!, obviously. What a waste of China)

Random catering question - it's been an absolute age since I've been in the Habbin. In theory at least, can you get a beer there at half time? Not really - you probably need to go 10 minutes before half time. Last few games I've been, I've not bothered. Duck at 5 minutes before the end of the first half and you'll be queueing until the start of the second. It's really very poor. I've worked in bars and I work in the events industry. My advice would be, have one person taking cash and another pouring drinks, but doing it constantly and asking down the queue what people want to get ahead.

OK, only small queues at half time for the tea bar which seemed to clear fairly quickly in their main East Stand. They had a small "pub" type bar as well though only a handful of people in there at 2pm. Quite a few around me had bought flasks and their own snacks......not sure if it related to the quality of catering there or not ? Tea was £2-10. Tea between £2 - £10, that's quite a range and the top price tea must be amazing. Is it served a a China cup, as I would be concerned about loss of quality if served in plastic or styrofoam. I guessed that was the reason it was so expensive, nice to have Sugar Lumps too ! 😁

One of the folks who sits around me in C block came to the game straight from work on Tuesday evening, and bought a hot dog at half time. It looked utterly horrific, he claimed it tasted of plastic and was stone cold. Frankly anything has to be better than the disastrous recent efforts.
I've never been a prolific user of the club catering service because the standards have been dreadful for so long. Lets just hope that this isn't another corporate name who promise the earth at tender stage and then continue to deliver the same lame, cheap and nasty offer on matchdays.

Huge problems with recruitment I'm told, in catering atm. That said, it's sunk to an all time low this season. Seems the club have finally given up with the last lot, strange timing though.

The food is the worst it has been for a long time at the Abbey, and that takes some doing!
Positive news I guess but I’m not convinced dishing out contracts to big catering firms is the way to go forward. At risk of sounding like a broken record, I don’t see why we use a bit of imagination and invite local food stalls like you see at music events and other clubs around the country. You’ll get a wider range of offerings from people who know how to cater under these circumstances!

I guess that is only a small fraction of their value when they also provide all the food for the players through the week and the hospitality etc.

Judging this based on the footy scrans twitter page, Wimbledon do something similar to this and it seems to get good reviews, i'm all for it. Charge each van a set fee to be here job done

Sounds delicious.
Sounds expensive too!
Great to see us do something about the 'fan experience'. Hope it works out.

Andrew Sounds great, you can get some really nice street food in that £8-12 bracket, works really well at brewery taps etc. Think as long as there's still the provision for a grotty burger and mug of instant coffee there's room for both & makes the experience seem a bit more premium, even if you're not partaking every week.
