I'm surprised he's not still here begging for one last game.

"HEAD COACH DEPARTS" What a wonderful, wonderful subheading. I felt a genuine weight lifted when I read that. And a statement that ends with a sentence with two magnificent words included: Mark Bonner. Little did we know.

Ooh yeah, that was a bad one. Think Arnold scored one of the goals didn't he?

Didn’t Alfreton also thump us 6-3 in the FA Trophy? Dark days.

YEah, that was a few years earlier. One of the small handful of matches I've left early – when the sixth went in, in extra time after Danny Wright I think had got a lateish equaliser for us. Think Aden Flint was playing for them wasn't he? And they had a sub come on (Clayton?) and score a hattrick

He was an incredibly slow and cumbersome centre-back we had on loan from Wimbledon for... a month I think? We realised quite quickly that he wasn't very good, but it was during the period where we were obsessed with having a left-footer as the left-sided CB. Cf: Michael Wylde, Dave Partridge... others I've definitely forgotten.

The best teams have a balance of left and right foot across the back line.

No they don't. In a back 3 you'll pretty much always have one left-footed CB at the top level; in a back 2, it's far less important. Unless I'm forgetting which footed someone is, the current Premier League leaders don't have a single left-footed CB; Arsenal play with 2 right-footers; when City play a back 2, it's quite regularly with 2 right-footers.

That may be the case in regard to what happens, but far better to have the balance of left/right foot if you can get it.

It is 30 years ago that we had a crazy Easter weekend.
We beat Orient 3-0 (Steve Butler hat trick) on the Friday and then beat Exeter on the Monday 5-0 (Butler scoring all 5).
We were absolutely awesome, playing with no fear. Just exciting, attacking play.
Be good if we can replicate that form this weekend!
