I mean he probably was/is a cheap option, but not in the disparaging way it was meant!

My youth was just full of positive U's stories, records and memories.
Some of the spoilt lot now would have definitely given up once the gloss wore off after those 3-4 years of amazing highs in the early 90's. Maybe I tried too but my Dad wouldn't let me, can't remember now!

One and only time I have witnessed more than 10,000 fans at the Abbey. And said before I think but the one and only time we turned up before the gates even opened so I could get my spot on the South Habbin wall.

Won the FA Trophy nine years ago today. I know at times we as fans knocked the competition, but it truly was a cracking day out.

Agreed, must admit to pre-match nerves though, as on the way down it occurred to me that given Gosport’s position, for the first time in living memory it would have been disgraceful for us to finish the season without silverware.

Not as important but so much more fun than our next game at Wembley I think it was important in a way as it gave the players the experience of playing at Wembley. Once we got to the final they knew what to expect and were relatively used to the surroundings compared to the Gateshead players.

Lordy, was it really 9 years? Seems like yesterday, but indeed it was. Can bearly remember it. Think it was fun but can't evenvremember who we played. Peak non league I guess. Glad we're a league 2 club nowadays. Edit - just seen - Gosport - never would have recalled.
