There are lots of younger fans (late twenties/early thirties) that I know of who hate the proposed new badge. So the supposed age related difference seems misleading to me.

Yeah nonsense what they said. Cambridge Aces, all young lads and lasses were appalled at the badge and made banners protesting. Don't know anyone under 40 who liked it, pretty much don't know anyone who did regardless of age!

Don't know anyone under 40 who liked it, pretty much don't know anyone who did regardless of age! And yet quite a lot of people did! We all live in our own bubbles, it's important to be aware of that while expressing our - very valid - opinions...

Key points: - Slightly taken aback by quite how good crowds have been this year, which has led to a few extra challenges on matchdays that we've been addressing (new server for card machines, and other bits and bobs) but feedback mechanism is really useful and progress being made. - Progress with ground redevelopment, been really positive with the Supporters Club, waiting for the next bit of process in terms of EGM. - Back to the drawing board with the badge but want to get this right. Thought the design met needs but clearly not. Will be engaging particularly with the younger and older demographics over the next year. Owners very keen not to stand still with club image and rebrand, but know it's an emotive subject and want to get to a place where broadly everyone is happy. - Training ground almost done, slightly delayed by bad weather. Inside pretty much finished and team will be moving in in the first week of November, with just a few bits to sort out outside. Will be 100% done by the new year but in use well before then. Staff and players are very excited about it. - Been broadly pleased with the start on the pitch, want to kick on. Anyone who wants to keep having a pop at this geezer really needs to give their head a wobble. He's surely doing an excellent job? Think of the muppets we've had and could have again in the future. I'm sure he's keen on the new badge (the current one is pretty ridiculous in 2023 to an outsider*) and thinks it will help to develop the club. He does emphasise this line of thinking comes strongly from the owners too. If you take at face value what he says about the badge, it seems perfectly reasonable. HAVING SAID THAT, if you think the current badge should be ours forever then, yes, you won't be happy. *I force myself to look at it objectively and notice the very dated typeface and scroll at the bottom, the clipart football and its overall passing resemblance to a toilet seat.

Over 40s are basically dead so shouldn't get the vote. I'm over 50 and would support this.

I don't think it really matters, having seen many changes in my 79 years here the club.

In my view its just a badge so people should get over it. It is more important that those wearing the shirt play well and get results on the pitch. Whatever badge it is that will not affect performance.

I struggle to understand anyone who doesn't have an emotional attachment to the badge. Or the floodlights. Or the shirt colour. Or...whatever.
It's ok to have that emotional attachment, it doesn't mean anyone thinks it actually 'matters', that we shouldn't change the badge for commercial reasons, or that it impacts results.
From what I can gather those opposed to changing are largely opposed to changing to the proposed design. Not the change itself. The discussion on these things always get shifted into two binary camps. It's not that straightforward as far I can tell 🤷♂️.

Whatever badge it is that will not affect performance. But if it's just a badge, why change it at all? It represents us. And "us", as they are well aware, is more than the current custodians of this fine club, fine as they are themselves. Identity is a nebulous thing, and personal to multitudes. But it is important, and it's right that we recognise that. I am glad we are going back to the drawing board. The majority, even accounting for spin and loud voices, are open to change. Just not that change. I am on the other hand slightly worried that the language has morphed to "change is going to come." When change isn't strictly necessary (and I'm yet to see any argument that it is, here) the door should always be open to not changing. I'm sure we've all been part of or witnessed changes that were railroaded through with good intentions but were obviously less right than leaving things as is.

Under 40's are idiots and not to be respected. Andrew Over 40s are basically dead so shouldn't get the vote. I’m 40, so I hate both groups 🤣
