Misery crew swapping allegiance from "teams behind us with games in hand are dangerous" to "points on the board more valuable" In fairness, there’s no one ahead of us in the bottom half who have played more than us.

The next two weekends look pivotal, fail to pick up at least 3 points and we will find ourselves 2nd bottom with a gap building above us given the likely results in other games. Real shame Accrington won, but they are pretty invincible at home.

We are in the bottom 4 because our results and form over the last few months haven’t been good enough. Trying to be positive if we can add some more players over the next fortnight, get some key injured ones back and not have any more injuries, then hopefully we can turn this around.

Given our terrible form this was inevitable. It is really depressing being in the bottom 4 now.
That said we can’t keep focusing on those around us. We need to focus on our results and somehow get the points we need to stay up. Not optimistic, but obviously not impossible. We just need this team to start clicking again and play as it did earlier in the season and hope we don’t suffer more injuries to key players.

In the relegation zone on goal difference behind Morecambe. Just goes to show how important today's postponed game was.

Not to be happy clappy or using amber-tinted specs, but there are good reasons to think we can get out of our current dire position.
People are talking a lot about form, and looking at results (admittedly the only thing that matters in the end) it is terrible. But there have been some good performances (or at least periods of games) in there.
In the last 5 games, we have played teams sitting currently in 1st, 2nd, 4th, 8th and 14th slots. We drew with top bods Plymouth and beat the Shrews in 14th. We went toe to toe with Derby for large parts of that game and were sunk by the Gas because of two defensive brain farts. The less said about Sheffield Wednesday the better - except to remember that they are essentially a Championship club and our squad was banjaxed with injuries.
Overall, if we keep putting in performances and get a bit of luck, we'll pull ourselves clear of the drop. It would have been interesting to see how we got on against Morecambe (the lowest-placed team we'd have encountered in a while), but I'm glad it was postponed so we can get some players back and some new blood in.

The players are playing for Bonner again after that Rotherham business and that's the one thing that gives me hope. It wasn't only that we lost far too many games against teams our level during that time, it was the poor showings that was the most worrying aspect of it all. A few of the current crop may not be up to the required standard but at least they're giving it a go unlike earlier in the season.
As for the seemingly never ending list of injured players, to my mind the true big losses were May, Jones and Fejiri.

The upcoming 2wks is going to define United and all the progress the club has made in the past 30months. I’ve never know United to be in such a great position off the field and yet the total opposite ion the field.
I’m struggling to see United get anything at Shrewsbury and Lincoln won’t be any easier, with Ipswich and Barnsley to follow. Strengthen at CB and some creative in midfield is a must, but as time keeps ticking by, the thought of no one coming in grows, hope I’m wrong.

Next round of fixtures: Barnsley v Accrington FGR v MK Dons Lincoln v Burton Morecambe v Port Vale Shrewsbury v Cambridge Do we need to start looking at Cheltenham and Fleetwood's games? Cheltenham are on a terrible run. My prediction to go down is: FGR, Burton, Morecambe and Cheltenham.

It would be quite funny if the 2 most recent wins ended up being home & away against the same club.
Shrewsbury are a horrible team to play against & it's going to be a horrible game, although their results are quite topsy-turvy. Really hope we can scrape it.

We’ll have an eye on Fleetwood either way as they have a run in April that sees them play us, Accy, FGR and MK Dons!

Likewise with Russ I said we wouldn’t be in one.
Whilst we are, and my faith is wobbling slightly, with 21 games to go I am still confident.

Portsmouth worth keeping an eye on too. Not won in the league since 22nd October.
