I have said on a previous post in that the only way we can stay up will be through our home results. Yes I know the Abbey form has not been impressive however our away performances are woeful. It simply will be down to performing at home. Let's give this a big push and try to help the U's at the Abbey. We are still alive in this league so forget today....its gone....vent any anger on here and bring a positive vibe to the Abbey for the next 2 home games....then we will see. United for Ever

Was always a bit of a free hit today but disappointing performance. Crap goalkeeping for first, didn’t capitalise on the red and second goal killed us. Had a couple of decent chances but not put away. I’ve been Bonner in up to this point, but it’s frustrating not to see some creativity added early in the second half like others said. Lumping it up to big Joe just isn’t going to work against one of the best defences in the league. Must win Tuesday and if not, as much as it pains me to say, I think Bonners time is up There is no such thing as a ‘free hit’ when we are in the relegation zone, surely? If we were mid-table and not in any particular danger then fair enough, but never when we are (supposedly) fighting for our place in L1. Free hit in the sense I didn’t think we’d get anything from the game. I like to think the players/staff don’t look at any game as a free hit, no matter what stage of the season we’re at/league position we’re in

Free hit if thats the mentality before you kick off then you have lost when we beat Newcastle we did nt have the attitude but this season I have heard this free hit or they are a big club a lot just have a go at them you might nick a few wins

The problem is the teams around us are getting the odd win under their belt. We’re not. We haven’t won since Boxing Day despite the transfer window. The odd draw here and there is no longer good enough. I fear the next couple of weeks may see a draw or two, which won’t get us anywhere.
I see no progress being made that makes me feel optimistic. Yes, the Ipswich performance was good, but so was the draw against Plymouth and that was well before the transfer window opened.

I still believe the BOD fcuked it all up when they didn't sack Bonner back in December/early Jan. He's certainly not the messiah some claim he is and though this might sound harsh IMO he's a very limited manager.

Barnsley fans in full praise for Duff with his half-time substitutions and change of formation to negate any attacking threat we may have offered while we just pottered on playing the same way regardless.
Are we that predictable?

Certainly is, and when he admitted few weeks back, he's not doing a v good job, that was confirmation for me. Too late now though, and still time to save our L1 status.

Are we that predictable? Yes, Bonner isn’t learning and is still hugely reactive rather than proactive. Very odd decisions today.

Indeed - there was the opportunity after the terrible run to get in fresh blood, instead they have effectively told him he's good for the season (if you don't fire someone after those results, you aren't going to). But it's a decision a high percentage of people here are happy with - mid-table L2 with Bonner in charge over any change at the helm. Apparently today, with us 23rd in the league was just another "free hit" (god we've had an awful lot of those this season) - and apparently we are the mad ones for wanting a change.
