"I think it's a good message to not only affirm Marks position, but also to gently remind people that they're spending a hell of a lot of their own money to make sure the club has an infrastructure to build on and to give us facilities befitting of our status, which then explains why we're not the most competitive in the transfer market"
Exactley, it's so frustrating to hear people say we lack amberbition when we're probably at our most amberbitious ever.

Good stuff. And good timing. The board needed to go public in backing Bonner and this is a pretty strong statement. My goodness - there really is money being pumped into the club now. And most probably a much higher wage bill from the Jan transfers. And not Hollywood-vanity-project money either, from a lifelong fan and his associates. This is still a great time to be a U, even if the first team haven't got the memo yet. Where have you been the last three years?

Obviously works on the basis that last week's results are on the newspaper wrapping up his chips!

Strange analogy but think of the investment in the training ground as you would think of investing in tyres for your car. If you spend £000's on a car then don't save on the tyres - they are a key part of the package. Similarly, if you spend £000's on players/stadium etc, you have to have facilities to bring the best from them. The training ground development is a structural and incredibly necessary use of investment funds. The message was great. I first thought it was the dreaded 'vote of confidence' but actually it is a lot more than that, and I do feel was incredibly necessary. I think we'd have seen exactly the message irrespective of Saturday's result. Now that any uncertainty has been cleared up, Paul is quite right, we need to face the challenges of the rest of this season together, no matter the outcome. I found myself reading the first paragraph in the voice of Alan Partridge.

Andrew £2.5m for training ground improvements, the ground purchase, FA Youth cup and playing League One football. If that isn't building blocks for longer term success i'm not sure what is.

Exactley, and the best chance of ground redevelopment we've had in years.

As Andrew has said and as the above post makes clear, the idea that we lack ambition is actually too ridiculous to entertain. I cannot take seriously anyone who says we lack ambition. So if those people consider me dismissive of their view, it’s because I am.

Nothing on the sugar situation at the tea bar ..or my lacklustre quinoa salad and quails eggs. We are truly a club in crisis.

I can't believe he didn't confirm that he had sacked the board, removed the manager and all the backroom staff. Tinpot

What happens if bonner decides to go for another Rotherham job, will Paul Barry still give him 100%, and trust me I’m all for bonner, I think he can lead us places

Will he be putting out a statement backing Strang for his sterling efforts in the transfer windows?
