What? I understand why they did it. I understand the reasons for it. I just think it was wrong... It's OK to disagree. It's healthy. Excellent. As you were then. Right... so you as long as the manager explains and justifies a decision then you're OK with it?.. You must be furious that people belittled Ling's three year plan.

Well it seems to be. Your rationale is that it was a justified decision because the management explained clearly why it was happening and therefore everything's OK with you.

Williams was pretty much every present last year and one of our players of the season. However well Bennett did in a few lower pressure end of season matches, he would clearly have been starting the season as back up. It's then a judgement call whether he should have been kept as back up or given first team football elsewhere. If a manager explains their decision making process AND that decision makes sense, it's hard to argue against it except with hindsight.
We could easily have got to January with Williams playing every league game, and Bennett getting frustrated on the bench pushing for a loan elsewhere anyway.
I'd have given PotM to Lankester this month anyway I think. A couple of goals, one of them that counted and some very lively performances.

I'm getting a t-shirt made with 'snowflake Bonner obsessive' on it.

Sorry of course you're right - the 1 whole game he played that wasn't at the end of the season changes everything...

If he does I bet he'd put a restraining order out against a certain poster.

No, but I suspect the reference was to the games he played in when we were already confirmed safe. It was a nice environment to blood a young player in, and if anything is confirmed early either way this season I'd hope we can do the same for a few others (Yearn for sure, possibly Jobe and McConnell too)
I love stories like his in football - Player rejected at youth level working hard and getting back into league football is hardly a unique story but it's always admirable when it happens. Even here he's put up with the 'too small to be a footballer' narrative and was rejected for various loans for that reason. It's admirable that he believes in himself so strongly and has been able to use his loan and his 15 or so games here to prove that his height and size is no judge of ability.

I really cannot understand the majority of people on this forum who think it was a good idea to loan him out. MoM in 40% of games he played in last season and Player Of The Month for 66% of the months he's played for us this season. The only reason I've persisted to bang this very futile drum is because of the backlash I've received over an opinion that really should not be controversial.
Walsall fans think we're mad.

Think this has been his weakest month, seemed teams really targeted him and Brophy with back post crosses. Interested to see how he copes at this level as a full back rather than a wing back and whether that aids his height issue or exacerbates it. Decent solid if unspectacular start at the weekend though so that's promising.

Only 4 to choose from mind but it’s the fans that voted for Lennet.
