Spurs fans consoling themselves that 12 academy players played probably don't realise we likely had 5-6 play too.
Savages.
With little to go on so far in pre-season I'm going to say it's good to be unbeaten after two games. Being hard to beat and losing games we should've drawn was an issue for us last season so etc etc etc and hurrah for Bonner.

Anyone know anything about this game, apart from the score?

No. But I think we should be told something by the club. Even though some posters on here are OK with blissful ignorance. So many of us put so much emotional investment into our club but we are left in the dark. Doesn't seem right. Not asking for transfer secrets just a score, who played, who didn't. Feel let down. Odd.

Nothing official from either side as yet so no CUFC conspiracy against the fans!
Info seems 2nd hand, most likely from a groundsman who wouldn’t know a Brophy from a Bennett so no real surprise we’re not getting much detail.
It’s behind closed doors for a reason.
Guess we are all just a bit bored and fed-up with the off season!

I'd definitely like more information on the game so I get the frustration, but I think 'blissful ignorance' is a bit harsh. Our fan engagement is one of the best in the country so personally I feel my emotional investment is returned.
6-7 years ago it was rather different with people talking down to us, lying to us, belittling us, or just not telling us anything at all and I was happy to bang the drum about emotional investment.

Andrew I think 'blissful ignorance' is more than a bit harsh, it's crass and unfair. Bonner and his staff have more than earned my trust and faith to take their time developing the squad for this season. With a major squad overhaul and Betsy's arrival things are going to start looking a little different -gradually and slowly of course- but I think they're working at evolving our playing style to the players we have (and will soon have) and the league we're in. They can have as many behind-closed-doors friendlies as they wish and keep most or all of the details secret. The first match I'm really interested in is the one on 5th August.

Why are all these silly sites always understanding things! Sky Sports News has a lot to answer for! I also can't understand how people care enough to get excited about how the team did in training today!

People are actually annoyed that a game that was never marketed as anything other than a behind closed doors game has been kept quiet. Almost certainly Spurs' decision too considering their influence compared to us too. Seems to suit Bonner though and his low key pre seasons though, we've always started alright so if it's not broken.

Probably no more than a glorified training session. Spuds get to dust off some cobwebs against decent local ish opposition and we get to spend the day at some of the best training facilities in the UK. A bit like when the England Rugby Union team bus in the likes of Georgia and Romania for a scrimmage session at their training base before 6 Nations or World Cups. Wouldn’t be surprised if the match had rolling subs, 6 x 15 segments, no heading and Rush keeper too. If no one sees a United goal, did it even happen?

I just see it as one of Bonners quirks, that he’s not a fan of pre-season & doesn’t share fans excitement.
It’s unusual in this age of social media hyperbole but easy to understand why some fans would like to see more stuff. I find it quite refreshing.
I hope our social media admin is match fit for the start of the season mind.

I agree, I find it charming - it seems like he's really set a boundary of pre-season being for the players / mgmt and the full season being for the fans. Refreshing and probably very astute given lots of us aren't strange enough to care about PSF results but we all want a cohesive team day 1
