This silly two games in two days needs a rethink next summer. Ridiculous.

This is getting embarrassing now. Not going to help our young lads one bit getting humiliated like this.

If you’re going to have two games in two days, why stick a strong team out against kids then a team full of kids about against a senior team?
Don’t get that logic.

Easy to say sat in the sun a few hundred miles from the match, but not going to lose sleep over pre-season results (however embarrassing). Seems a strange set of matches we've played so far, topped by today, but we've had plenty of bad seasons before after good pre-season results.

Think we've pitched this game a bit high. I imagine when we planned this we imagined we'd have a few less on the injury list, don't think Colchester will be pleased playing such a weak side either.

Unless the first teamers who are injured have picked them up in the last 2 or 3 days I really don't get why we allowed this match to go ahead. 8 youth teamers without any really experience at this level playing against what was always going to be a full strength Colchester side was never going to go that well and if they have decided their too tinpot to host the match themselves it's a strange decision for us to go ahead with it

There was no way we were going to play a team of kids in our only home friendly where a few thousand fans would be in attendance.

It just shows the step-up from youth football to league football. Colchester are a fairly limited League Two team and this has been men against boys.

In fairness, Colchester look to have made some decent signings this summer and will expect significant improvement in the league this coming season. You don't often see Danny Cowley sides struggling. We're just going through what we've experienced so many times before, a small squad, with less summer transfer window activity than anticipated and injuries biting already.

Questions need to be asked about what the heck is going on with fitness and training.... I agree with Chris above that these back to back games are crazy and we're now going into the 1st 3 games light of at least 4 senior players !!!!

Good to see a bit of Taylor Richards this afternoon - looks the part. Some quality passing so far.
Other than that, we can’t determine anything from this game. Good experience for our youth and a decent second half so far with no further goals conceded. Diggers of course went off injured.
